Default A Few Before & Afters

Just to get the ball rolling on some restoration and honing talk, here are a few I've done. These, I've reground to remove excessive hone wear, pitting, rust, etc., and most I've rescaled, as well.

Default Here Are the After Ones (same blades)

These are in order from the previous three. These are the after pix. Although it's hard to tel from the photos, all three blades still have a wedge profile.

GORGEOUS work! What are you using to polish the blades?

    Joel,

Looks like those have been hand sanded with fine grit sand paper. Here is Joe's website:

The last one is available. The first one was reground for a customer, the second has been sold. I keep meaning to put it up in my store, but haven't gotten around to it.

Well, I didn't exactly mean for it to be advertising. I've done some regrinds and custom scaling I like better, but I'm hoping if I post some things here, we can start trying to expand the SR section of this site. Generate some interest and show what can be done. Terrible thing is, I'm a horrible photographer. lol Most everyone agrees they look much better in person, which kinda deflates the effects of advertising.

I'd love to see more straight razor talk here as well. Rather than going to multiple sites, it'd be nice to find all the information in one place -- one-stop shopping, y'know? Plus, I find it a lot easier to find information here.

Well, that's certainly encouraging, 'cause those razors above look pretty darn good.

I agree.... with you, Joe, MParker, Randy Taylor, and the rest of the gang (come on fellas - way too many names to list ) we can easily make this a "one stop shop" as we certainly have the knowledge base here!

Not to worry.... as my terribly difficult role of quality control for B&B, I just had to purchase one of 'em..... you know.... to use, examine, etc..... educational purposes only.... seriously.... oh come on - stop laughing

I am all for a one stop shop. But Joel, as Quality Control Officer here at B&B, please refrain from abusing staight razors as you did the B&B brush.

Well if Joe is too modest to advertise, I'm happy to do it for him. Joe reground two razors for me and they turned out great. Seriously, the one blade was about 2/3rds hone wear and it turned out brand freakin' new! Besides that, the prices are more than right, with a blade regrind running around $30, which includes a full honing. Truly amazing work and one of the most stand up guys I've met.

    Thanks again Joe!
