    Default Most Aggressive

Is a Fatboy set on 9 one of the most aggressive shaves you can get? It's perfect for me but I like variety, and other razors can't match the close shave.

Muhle R89 (old style) is like a Fatboy set on 11!

There's an aggressiveness chart on the Wiki that shows you what razors fall where. Personally, I think the old type Muhle R89 is more aggressive than a Fatboy or Slim on 9. A Slant is pretty aggressive too.

    YMMV

The Big Boy Deluxe and the Tuckaway are dangerous pieces of equipment.

Most aggressive I've ever had was an Ikon Spindle-Type open comb.

I don't trust a single dimension definition of aggression à la wiki page, but I understand that the upper settings on a Merkur Futur are pretty impressive.

Wow that's pretty crazy. I have a tuckaway that I just got, but with two broken teeth. Maybe I'll be very careful and give that a try.

    Hiya,

I generally found open comb razors to be on the aggressive side, some more than others. There's been 8-10 of those types I've used, with a few that were waaaay too much for my face. I normally use a fatboy set on #3 for reference. Oh, the slant is a lightweight compared to some of the OC razors.

Probably THE most aggressive model I tried is the Bulldog, followed closely by a Single Ring. The Bulldog has been compared(by a member who's used and likes both) to the older Muhle R89 type. How's that for having to pay attention when shaving......heh..

Then you got the Norfolk, followed by the Tuckaway.........different head designs on these and both are gruesome for me to use.

Anyway, here's another opinion to add to the mix.

I can quit at any time that I decide to. Unfortunately, I have NO control over when (if ever) that decision might occur.

The first time I shaved with a DE, using a futur, I thought I messed up because of all the gashes on my face. So the second time, as the first was on a 1, I put it on 6. Nothing to compare it to, but I think you better know what you are doing before you try anything above a 1.5-2.
