Default Wade & Butcher Celebrated Damascus Razor

Done in Brown Ebony as requested by Slippy..

The razor need some polishing to remove the majority of the stains and pits and then it went spinning in the tumbler for the past few days while I built and finished the scales... The etch came out near perfect.. but that is what the tumblers excel at...

The scales were made close to the original design with just a little more "swoop" to them... The Brown Ebony is a dream to work with it has tight even figure to the grain I used a brass lined Bolivian Rosewood wedge to give it just a touch of red... The hardware is as close to the old original bullseyes as you can get without a mini platter lathe...

I am hoping to test shave it in the morning....

BTW yes it does balance to the tang, but I figure everyone is getting tired of those pics

    beautiful Glen!!
One question, will the etching be hurt by the hone, or is it recessed enough to get missed??

    How to explain that...

Let's see???? it depends on who is doing the honing, there is a difference in making razors shave ready, and restoring razors...

But in this case no I saved it and yes she is a typical W&B, a very smooth shaver...

BTW the lines and stuff in the pic is the oil

Very nice work Glen. If you could, what was your washer progression for the bull's eye rivets?
    Thanks,

Received the razor a few days ago. Shaved with it today. Glen puts a great edge on a blade! Can't say enough good things about this restoration. I'm a happy camper

    Thanks Glen!!!

That one stood out alright, at least in my eyes, something about saving etch just turns my prop

    Glad you like her...

Very nice work. Would you happen to know the Latin name of the ebony you used?
