Default Opps Time for a New Shaving Bowl

Well it happened the first DE shaving accident. This morning after shaving I was cleaning out my VDH bowl and it went right outta the palm of my hand. Smashed in the sink in half with a few shards in the sink.

Aside from scaring the bejesus outta my wife sleeping in the next room it really caps a crappy weekend. Gotta cold Fri and all weekend into this am hence the clumsiness.

I'm gonna look at the local fair vendors and see if I can find anything fairly priced to replace it. If anyone has any ideas of a bowl/mug or something that is similar in width but taller then the VDH bowl (walmart kit) please feel free to recommend. Preferably something that'll do as good or better at keep'n my brush warm...

    Sorry for your loss.

Get yourself one of those really big coffee mugs at Target. They look like a cereal bowl with a handle. Should work great and be cheap.
    Cheers,

Look around for the Bodum Thermo-Glass Double Wall Latte mugs. They are high temp borosilicate glass double walled latte mugs without handles that hold heat a really long time. They can be microwaved and are dishwasher safe.
They do make regular mugs with handles and also a variety of glasses.
The latte mugs run about 15 bucks each, but, if you want stuff to stay warm...

Sorry to hear about your bad break. Just go to any discount store and get a good soup mug which should surfice until you find just what you want. I'd look into a scuttle though, they can't be beat.

Sounds to me like you need to start face lathering!

I never really got into the whole bowl thing. It just didn't work for me.
Good luck finding a bowl. In the meantime grab a soup bowl from the kitchen until you find something.

    TABACTABACTABAC!!
As I told you, it would be absolutely, totally, and in all other ways inconceivable.

+1 on the soup bowl. Some of these are really thick and hold the heat well

huh... look at that. A great shave soap in a whole new bowl you can break. I have started really becoming addicted to that Tabac. My poor TOBS Almond cream just kinda sits there.

Yup, try face lathering for a week and you will forget about the bowl.

Don't forget about Target and the Thomas O'brien "dip" bowl. it has very nice dimensions and has a great price - $4. I love mine and would not have found it with out the fine folks from B&B.

Awesome suggestions all. I'm gonna check out the Bodum, dip bowls and soup bowls after the trip to a large local fair.

    thanks again

Also, I do sometimes face lather but sometimes it's enjoyable to watch the lather just explode. I probably do something of a 60/40 split, face/bowl. I guess I just enjoy the diversity ;)

I would check target, they have some rather nice kitchen bowls that work great for building lather. I just let mine float in a sink of hot water.
