    Default Just received SR 3226

I just received my SR 3226 silvertip from QED last night. Got it's first go around this morning. When I first opened the box, I was a bit surprised at the bristles upright-ish appearance. But after one use it is starting to bloom nicely. (Hey, I'm still a newbie).

I will post a review after some more shaves, but initially I must say that the handle makes lathering a whole different experience for me coming from the EJ Best Badger medium and a Trumper traveling brush. It is really a comfortable as well as aesthetically pleasing brush.

I also received a tub of Trumpers Rose s/c, which Charles at QED had recommended. I am glad I read some posts about it at B&B before using it b/c some of you had mentioned that it lightly stained your brush. That would have been disheartening had that occurred hence the baptism with Trumpers Sandalwood s/c. I'll try the Rose with the EJ.
    Cheers,

    Bob

congratulations on the 3226! i have one and it is a great brush. the handle is one of my favorite things about it.

after you have used it for a while i'd be interested in hearing about how it compares to the EJ. i'm thinking about picking one of those up as a travel brush.

I love my 3226. If I had to pick only one brush to use for the rest of my life (shudder ), it would be the 3226. The handle is wonderful.

    Cheers,

Are you liking the larger size? How does it compare to the smaller brush you previously used?

In a comparision between these brushes, I'm afraid my EJ BB medium would appear to come up short and that is certainly not the case. They are two different types of brush. The SR 3226 is just an incredible brush, it's a lathering machine. I am so happy that I bought it. I am enjoying the larger size brush as well as the comfortable handle. My EJ has experienced a fall or two in the shower and the base of the handle is broken, even though it can still stand, (awaiting release of B&B brush ), therefore the handle on the SR 3226 makes lathering all that much more pleasureable. And the cost? Negligible when you consider the performance and beauty of this brush. I can't imagine not having this one in the rotation (especially since the only other ones in the rotation are the EJ and a Trumper pure badger traveling brush.) Overall, very pleased with this acquisition. It is certainly, and not surprisingly, the best brush I own.
    Cheers,

    Bob
