Kukri Solingen straight

I've just purchased this straight off the bay. I've been able to find precious little info about it. Anybody know anything about Kukri straights? If it is indeed made in Solingen, then I'm sure it will be a good blade. But if it's a case of just being assembled in Germany (so they can put Solingen on it), then who knows, it could be suitable for cutting cheese and that's about it. So that's the question: will it be a good shaver or a mediocre cheese cutter? Thanks for any info you may have.
