Default Yet another Simpsons quality control issue

This time a CH1 Super is the culprit. It's less than a week old and a crack has developed on the top of the handle (where the knot joins). It's very small now but it looks like a stress fracture (perhaps from the knot being overstuffed?) that will likely continue to open. I'm hoping against hope that the crack will stop where it is. I really don't want to send this back. Anybody else experience this? If so how bad did it get? Thanks.
    Cheers,
    Jeff

    Jeff,

    Do you mean like THIS?

Sorry if that is the case. I would ask for a replacement.

Yeah, just the small, top crack. Mine hasn't developed that secondary crack just below it yet. I'll PM Slider and ask him if his got any worse.
    Cheers,

    Jeff,

I don't think you should have any trepidation about trying to get a replacement. You paid a lot for your new brush. You should be satisfied with your purchase, or get your money back. Period.

I think someone needs to make it very clear to Simpsons that there's a large segment of their customers who invest a considerable bit of money in wetshaving gear who are losing confidence in their product. Any sensible company would see this as a red flag. Its somewhat of a niche market, and the fact that we've got a group of guys here who enjoys collecting shaving brushes would beg the assumption that we've (the online wetshaving community) got to comprise a significant portion of their sales.

I don't think we should pussyfoot around this, as it appears to be a widespread issue. Not buying Simpsons brushes is an option, but you'd think that if Simpson doesn't want legions of devoted wetshavers online advocating newbs not buy their brushes because the quality isnt up to snuff, they'd be willing to do something about it and try to keep that from happening.

How many of the employees at Simpson are well over retirement age?

I wonder if the resurgence of wetshavers demanding their products caught them short? Now, they have to try to train new journeyman to do a job with skills that are literally persihing while trying to keep roduction up with the demand.

Perhaps this is why we're seeing irregularly-shaped handles, slipped knots (ala TimmyBoston's PJ2 "Friar Tuck"), excessive shedding, etc.

  6. Default Simpson Problems

Yup, not in denial. I'm seeing them and fighting for everyone of you. I speak to the upper executives and I want answers, not excuses. I'm too freaking honest for excuses. I'm working on it, let's be a little more patient into the early part of 07 (They re-open the 4th) and lt's say FACTS ONLY-NO MORE EXCUSES. We all know there's nothing like a Simpson Brush in perfect working order! I want it back to the way it was SO BAD.
    Thank you,
    Lee

Get a replacement. You shouldn't have to mess with that.

Marty: I am with you on that, but if Lee is satisfied, I can be satisfied. Lee has been the one to get these problems resolved, if you bought from him and I have no doubt he would get me a new brush if one crapped out. I find one I want bad enough, Ill call Lee again.
