    Default Stand?

How necessary is a stand for a straight razor? On one hand, I'd assume the scales would protect the blade (unlike with a DE). On the other hand, it looks lonely just sitting there.

Thoughts? Worth the money to get one?

Straight stands are mainly decorative. The scales do protect the blade from harm. If you are interested in displaying your straight buy a stand.

like ole' austin here says - you dont need one. You can stand it up in a coffee mug, or put them in a cigar rack, or toothbrush holder or cd rack etc.

    Cool, that's what I figured.

I should be getting my straight in a week or so.. hella excited!

(it's odd, right now I am effectively razorless, in a week, I'll have three - onen straight and two DEs)
