As I said in the other post:

I have four of Mike's brushes, and they're all fantastic! I use them exclusively. I wouldn't trade them for a modern brush.

In my opinion, they just don't make bases as handsome as these anymore (and the modern ones are all marred by unfortunately large and ill-placed logos!).

Can anyone offer an opinion as to how "floppy" these knots are? Say compared to a Savile Row or a Rooney? 50 mm is rather on the long side and I'm concerned that the length may make it floppy.
    Regards,

#1 G. Swirl - Not floppy, this brush is set at 48mm, which is the same loft as a simpson chubby 1 or rooney stubby 1. and same size knot. Rooney style 2 & 3 actually have the same or longer lofts than this brush.

#2-3 The other two are slightly more than the chubby/stubby, but less than a comparable vulfix, who set their 22mm knots at 52mm. They were set up as tweener's, to be used for both soap and cream. They are not "floppy".

BTW loft is not the only indicator of brush firmness. Density and bristle type also affect this.

Bump, these are silvertip knots btw, called super badger as they are treated silvertip...per the GN web site.
