Default Chandler Damascus Razors: Pattern Welded vs. Wootz

I was doing some research over the weekend and it seems that Chandler offers Pattern and Wootz Damascus steels for his razors. I understand that the Pattern Welded is two types of steel forge welded and the Wootz is a single type of steel with a carbide pattern through out the steel. But what about practical differences? Is there a difference in shaving experience and/or honing? Pros and cons?

Id be curious to know what the experts have to say. Also, Im trying to find some Wootz Damascus Steel for an RW custom. Anyone know where to get it?

    Thanks!

I dont know how regularly he is doing the Wootz. I am lucky to have 1 of the 4 blades created with this steel. It keeps a sharp edge and looks amazing.

Al Pendray is the king when it comes to Wootz Damascus. Wootz supposedly is the "true" damascus while all the others are pattern wielded.

I think he's much more likely to sell to RW than to some guy on the internet :)
My understanding is is that the demand is quite high.
