I just bought this recently and I was wondering if there was a significant difference between this razor set and other ones I've seen with the guard being nickel plated, rather than painted black. Also, do you think this brass blade box is original from this set? I assume this was most likely issued during WWII, correct?

Nope. The blade case does not match the set. The set would have most likely come with a five pack of Gillette Thin or Blue Blades. These did not come with blade cases. That said, any interest in trading the case for blades?

I'll shoot you a PM after my son's football game this evening. I know I can come up with a NOS five pack of Blues. I may have that same era of Thins, too. I'll have to check.
