Question Need advise on Sandalwood aftershave

I am asking for recommendations on a Sandalwood aftershave or ASB, or the cologne. I am looking for a great smelling one that's not real expensive.
    Thanks & Merry CHRISTmas! Scotty

I really like the scent of Taylor's Sandalwood ASB, although my understanding is that it is not a "true" sandalwood - more of a blend of scents including, of course, sandalwood. I think I paid around $20 at classicshaving.com. It is moderately soothing and moisturizing. However, I usually apply Proraso pre/post first to soothe any irritation (which does a much better job) and then follow-up with the ASB. Because I like the Taylors more for its scent than its soothing properties, I am planning on getting Taylor's sandalwood cologne and using an unscented ASB.

I think Scotto's aftershave and cologne sampler's have a number of sandalwoods.

Hmmm, not any inexpensive options that I am aware of. In a splash, D.R. Harris A/S rules the roost; in an ASB, The Crabtree and Evelyn is an excellent and readily available option. The cologne is great as well.

The best sandalwood a/s I've tried, by far, is the Harris. Not exactly cheap (I paid $27 at Pasteur's, but I have seen it for around $5 more), but it's fantastic.

It's an alcohol based splash that barely stings, smells amazing, if fairly moisturizing, and leaves my face supple. Next time I buy the big bottle.

As Scotto said, the C&E ASB and cologne are very nice.

I agree...and if there is a C&E in your area you can get a sample of the Balm and give the EDT a whiff.

Saint Charles Shave Sandalwood EDT is worth looking into as well. You can't beat the price.
