What's new

new brush and boiling water

I got a new/old badger brush at the antique store. I started this shave with boiling water from my tea kettle. Soaked the brush while using a hot towel. whipped up a great lather and warmed up the blade in the now hot water. cut through my beard like butter. repeated warming the blade after each pass cleaning in the hot water. result was a wonderful shave.

it was well off the boil by the time it soaked I had a nice cup of tea in the mean time. Though it was much hotter than our tap and was just cool enough to do the hot towel.

What would be an optimal temp for the brush without endangering the glue ect... ?
