scars from acne

Hi,

Does anybody have any suggestions on how I can improve the appearance of scars on my face caused by acne? I have both raised scars and 'hole' type scars.

I have had some success with the raised scars by using things such as the silicon plasters, bio oil and a glycolic cleanser. but these have not had much impact upon the 'hole' type scars.

I am saving up to get a dermatologist to have a bash at them with a laser, but if anybody had any suggestions for any products that I may be able to try first, I would be very grateful.

Microdermabrasion should help the pitted scars. Usually microdermabrasion is suggested over six treatments, after which you should have totally resurfaced facial skin. Small crystals are "blasted" at the face, literally removing the top-most layer of skin. It also stimulates collagen production. You might not be able to shave for a day or two after microdermabrasion.

For some of these deeper scars, there's little that any over the counter prep can do about it.

A dermatologist will have to take care of them for you, once you completely don't have acne anymore then he can do the rest.

Check out www.kirklandlaser.com - there is a doctor there, Dr. Cooperrider who is up on the lastest treatments. The reason I know this is a close lady friend just had a major treatment done yesterday. Doubtful you live in the area but they could perhaps suggest someone in your area.
