Default Emergency shave kit at work

I overslept this morning, so I didn't have time to shave. Trouble is I hadn't shaved yesterday either, so I was sporting two days of stubble. Don't ask why I'm missing shaves, it's just a hectic time of the year and I didn't feel like showering at night the past couple of days, kinda just passed out.

My job requires driving around a lot, and I had a lunch meeting, so I stopped in at Walmart before the meeting to pick up an "emergency shave kit" to keep in my desk at work.

    I got:

Bump Fighter Trac II handle (about $3.50)
Personna Twin II blades 10 pack (about $3.50)
Nivea Sensitive shave gel (about $2.50)
    Nivea Sensitive ASB ($5.00)

Normally I use a DE (Fatboy, SS, or NEW), but when convenience trumps, all bets are off. There's a private bathroom at work in our NOC (network operations center, I'm an IT guy), the catch is that there's no hot water out there. So my shave today was a cartridge shave with canned goop and cold water.

It wasn't a terrible shave. I took a good 60 seconds to wet my face thoroughly and rub in the shave gel. I did one pass N-S and a quick touch-up pass ear-nose. I had a couple of small nicks on the normal problem spots on my neck but otherwise I was much more presentable than I was at 7am. Most importantly it was quick.

I know a lot of guys here wouldn't even have the ability, nor the time to shave at work, but I'm sure some of you do. Do any of you have one of these "kits".

Briefcase essential! I actually have an emergency kit in the briefcase with a travel puck of col conk almond, travel brush, and the merkur travel wallet. I also keep some canned food, ties, sewing kit, asparin, brooks brothers cologne, and a shirt in my desk. You never know when you will need to pull an all nighter.

I have the plastic Wilkinson razor and blades (£4), Wilkinson brush (£3.50) and Palmolive cream (£1) in my office desk drawer. These were all bought in the shopping centre across from the office. I used to shave once or twice a week at work in the mornings but I haven't done that for some time. Still it's there if I've missed a day and suddenly find myself going somewhere for the evening directly from the office.

I'm kind of self-conscious stood in my vest at the sink when someone else comes in. I think shaving is one of those semi-private things. Perhaps it's those funny faces I pull when I'm in the middle of the process, or the snatches of music I find myself humming.
    Razors: English Gillette Tech
    Blades: Derbys
    Cream: TOBS Shaving Shop, Proraso
    Soap: TOBS Sandalwood, Wilkinson Sword
    Brush: Tweezerman
    AS - "Noir", Old Spice

Yeah, I didn't really want to shave in our public restroom inside the main office. I had visions of a co-worker walking in and saying, "What the hell are YOU doing?" Our restrooms don't have showers or anything like that, just a typical office restroom with two urinals and a stall.

I've been asked that a couple of times too. I've been tempted to come back with something smart like "I'm brushing my teeth". Still there's a long strip mirror directly about the sinks which must have been put there for some reason.

    Microwave= hot water

As far as being seen, can't hurt your rep if the truth is that you were working all nght and showed the flag early the next day.

Uhhh Yup! They do! Well...Some of them do... I do!

Don't think I've got quite THAT much of an emergency kit... Disposable 2-blade-lubristrip razor, soap, deodorant, spare T-shirt, and $5 in 1's for the vending machine!

I keep a Bic Comfort 3 in my desk with a bar of glycerin soap. Have used it once and it was ok shave in pinch.

I also keep dental floss, nail clippers, toothpaste, and a toothbrush in there.

I set the alarm clock 30 minutes earlier, and put it where I have to get out of bed to turn it off.
