I would like to start using a straight razor and I'm beginning to shop around. I'm looking at buying a Dovo classic straight from Classicshaving.com. I'd rather not pay more than 100$ for my first one but I don't want a bad experience either. Can anyone tell me if thats a good starter straight? It says pre-sharpened is that the same as shave ready? I don't know how to hone or strop or what the difference is between the two.

Member Leighton here, can put a wicked bloody sharp edge on a straight, and in fact is selling a few on Ebay. (all BIN auctions)

The nice thing is, for under 100, you can buy two, and when the first gets dull, you can use the second while you send the first out for honing.
