Lightbulb The scent of my cheekies

    Well gentlemen,

I'm currently ordering a couple blades to try out from westcoast/bluegoose... and i was so very close to ordering Proraso after shave when i had a phantom vignette flash before my eyes....

...I had just finished an amazing shave, my face smoother than orlando bloom's hands. I splash on my proraso aftershave and stroll out of the house. I see one of my love interests and we greet with some kisses... at first they're taken by my soft cheeks, and then... they smell the mentholated proraso and are instantly reminded of granpappy at the convalescents home ....

    NNOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooOOO!!!!!!!

I took proraso aftershave out of my shopping cart after realizing that this might be a concern for me. I'm already known for smelling like menthol because i so often have menthol ointments on me from all my dance injuries. (ballet)

So the question here is this: What is a good aftershave that doesn't smell medical, but does the same soothing, maybe even cooling job. I'm even thinking of crabtree and evelyn's Nomad aftershave. I have the shaving cream and it smells like leather, cigars, adventure, but its also very light and delicate. Sortof like you're standing between Indiana Jones and Snow white, in an elevator. (...Jokes anybody?)

I think the kiss of a wet-shaver should really be an experience for the lucky person receiving it. Soft cheeks, and an amazing light scent.

I don't think that you have any worries with Proraso. It has a light herbal scent that is very fleeting. Far from the Tiger Balm-like fragrance that you are fearing.

I think that i would really like proraso after shave actually, but it would be nice to have a deeper scent once i'm done and walking out. I can enjoy the proraso when i shave since i just bought the shaving creme from bath&body

I wouldn't necessarily consider any AS scent "long lasting"...personally, if I want something that last, I go the cologne route.

I've recently gone through a number of after shave samples that were mentholated, and not a one of them smells like Vick's VapoRub. One of the samples was, indeed, Proraso, and I hope to eventually get my hands on one of the big honking 400 ml bottles.

Most of those rubs that are mentholated smell like eucalyptus- not menthol to me

I'd go for the Musgo Real. The scent is the very essence of a wet shaver, classic, manly, and with the aloe, it's very healing.

It's all fun and games until someone looses an eye. Then it's just fun.
