how do i put back together a merkur hd?

How do I make the little ring thing for the knob adjuster fit into the merkur hd? That little brown copper part you see in the pic fit into the hole

That brown ring copper thing doesn't fit into the hole anymore and I'm not sure how ho make it fit snugly against the place for it

It's spring steel. Just squeeze the copper ring together as you slide it up into the handle. Once the ring starts in, just push it the rest of the way.

Thats a lot harder than it is and its not working so far any other suggestions?

Cut off the ring. It will function fine. It will just come apart which I prefer like a Gillette Single Ring.

Like rainman said you don't need the ring. Why can't you squeeze it back together?

Also, make sure the ring is in the recessed groove. It should go right in. I just tried it on my HD slant to be sure, and no problems.

I just put mine back together. Make sure the ring is in the groove squeeze it together where it's split and push it into the handle.
