Default Do you lay down to apply the wet towel? I'm serious about this question.

This may elicit laughter because maybe I'm not thinking of something obvious but how else can you apply a hot, pre-shave towel? I really don't want to lay on my bathroom floor, especially in the winter time and I have only a shower stall to work with in my shaving bathroom no full size tub.

I've done it before if I'm in the bath soaking after a long mma training session and my body is aching. But most of the times I have a towel that is long enough that I can reach the back of my neck and hold it by one had while applying pressure with the other hand. I wish I had a barber chair :P lol.

Why not? Lather up first and make it even better.

Yep. When I use a hot towel, I lay down on the bathroom floor. It's carpeted, so it's not bad. I suppose if you had tile it could be a little rough. And cold.

    Default towel

Nope, I just apply it to my face standing up.

The towel may be only a wash cloth. And that may be be a cheap wash cloth.

I tried that, but the water, the mess, the poor coverage. The Horror! It can't be the best way.

Nope. Lean over the sink, holding the towel/washcloth with both hands for 3 mins or so. Elbows resting on the sink.

If I lay back down, I'll fall asleep! (early morning shaver)
