    Default Thin head razors

    Gentlemen,

My first DE was a Merkur Futur. I've since moved to a classic and a slant. One of the main reasons for my move was that the head on the Futur is too thick to work around my nose/upper lip. What other razors have a slim profile that makes shaving in close quarters easy?

    Cheers,
    Matt

A Schick Injector has a head profile far smaller than any Double Edge razor.

I'm a big fan of Gillette, so I have to agree on the Tech as low profile. But it is a very mild razor, so may not be up to snuff for someone a little grizzled, lol.
There are the Injectors by Schick, though blade availability is just slightly less than DE.
Schick also makes a long handled Twist to Open DE with a low profile called the Krona. It's actually a nice shave.
The Gillette NEW is also low profile, and more aggressive than the Tech, but is an open comb type.
As far as the other Gillette TTO types, the Superspeeds are of course my favorite, with the Red Tip 50's style leading the pack. My second choice in the Superspeeds would be the 40's style, then the regular 50's style Flare Tips.

Thanks for the quick response folks! I figured I was in the market for an old Gillette. One more question: Are 3 piece usually thinner than TTO?

When I use the futur, or any thick wide dome razor heads... I just use the corners of the blade/DE to shave my lip below the nostrils of the nose.

That being said, the gillette tech is the smallest profile I've ever delt with. Its a great shaver! So is the Knack, the slim adjustable...

Now that I think of it... anything will probably beat out the Futur.

Three piece are absolutely thinner than TTO, and some TTO are thinner than others.

    That not true.
Lux razor from Poland has the lowest lightest head.

I think that the Schick Krona and Wilkinson Sword Sticky are probably the lowest profile TTO razors, but they still aren't as small as any TTO.

Another option if you want a more aggresive shave is a Feather Portable. Very similar to a ball-end tech (including weight) but a much more aggressive shaver. Or an old type, New Improved or NEW head.
