    Default THE Wallet Pen

I came across an ad for the Wallet Pen some time ago, in the Atlantic. Last year, I had a chance to buy one while on a weekend trip to Asheville (Origami Ink is a great pen shop, my friends) but bought a fountain pen instead. Now I really wish I'd bought the Wallet Pen. I've worn shorts & either polos or t-shirts all summer, and without the front pocket of my "uniform" (button-down and chinos), I have to carry a ballpoint in my back pocket, where I usually stow my small Moleskine notebook.

Before I start shopping around for prices, I thought I'd ask here first: do any of you own one, and if so, what do you think about it?

I had one for awhile. Don't remember what happened to it, think I lost it.
Anyways its an ok pen, good for jotting quick to do lists, and signing CC receipts, But too skinny to use for more than a sentence or 2.
Also, it's expensive for what it is. I think I got mine on ebay.

I just kept a refill from a mini G2 pen in my wallet for awhile. Now,

I just carry a g2 mini pen with me all the time now, much more convenient and comfortable to use.

Get a Swisscard. Many more fun little toys, and only $20 at Target.

I carry a small swiss army knife . . . a space pen (when you put it together it is pretty much full size) and a 8gb memory key with Linux and open office. All three things are kinda down to the concept of "be prepared"

I carry a Fisher Bullet Space Pen. Sometimes it goes in my beast pocket, sometimes in the left front pants pocket, where I carry my notebook.

Which model of Moleskine book do you carry? The first and only one I've tried so far is the one with a brown cardboard cover, about $9 for a pack of 3 at Borders. It is nice and thin, and very lightweight. I'm on my first book, and about half-way through after 3.5 months of use.

I never understood those. Are they supposed to go in a wallet? I have a Victorinox knife already, so I'm not opposed to the brand/quality. I just don't see how I'd carry it.

I bought a Lacie Iamakey (odd name, but a good product) recently and love having a flash drive with me at all times. I tried it with standard flash drives, but could never remember to take it every time. Having it on my keyring is great.

Excellent suggestion! Better balanced, and a more attractive price. I've found what I need. Thank you!

Regarding the notebooks, you probably have exactly what I have. Black cover, very thin, but roughly the size of an index card.

Shop around on Amazon and eBay for Fisher Pens ... easily 40% off the MSRP.

Suggestion: when you order the pen, get a refill at the same time, so you have it on hand when you need it. (This may be a moot point, as I've been carrying Fisher pens for about 35 years, and I've never run one out of ink. I usually lose it, or switch to carrying something else.)

Good advice. Thank you. Amazon prices seem to be about the same as reputable eBay sellers, so I think I'll go that route.

That's where I carry mine, right behind my credit/debit cards.

The idea of a pen in your wallet intrigued me. So I did some searching and Cross sells a wallet/pen combo. Couldn't find the pen alone, but for $35 shipped on ebay, its not too expensive. Not quite convinced of the need though.

    i have the wallet pen.

i agree that it is overpriced for what it is.

i agree that for writing multiple sentences, the fisher bullet pen beats it.

but the advantage of the wallet pen is it stays unobtrusively in the wallet (mine is a super slim all-ett) until it is needed. mine has come in handy many times for jotting a note on a business card, etc. a separate pen is something else to remember to carry.

the wallet pen has certainly gotten more use, and been more useful, than other gifts that i have received.
