Is the fat handled tech head, and the slim handled tech head the same?
are there different variations on the tech head?

Same head just preference, I prefer the slim some the thick.
This is my recommended newbie razor with a feather blade- SWEET
I used a gold thin handled yesterday, and have a thick handled chrome tech loaded up for tomorrow. These liitle guys are just so darn friendly and easy to use.
