Anyone use... Murray and Lanman Florida Water before? I found it at a store locally for like $2.20 a bottle. I didn't pick it up though...

Gentlemen,
I have Florida Water and find it refreshing, although the fragrance fades within a short period. It has a clean, extremely light and flowery fragrance and seems soft on the skin. The price is right, too. I use it as an early morning splash to wake myself up, before the later shave, that is, and also at bedtime. That's about it. I don't think it holds up beyond that.

It's great. Pick some up. Very refreshing and citrusy, although the downside is it lasts for an infinitesimal amount of time. Great as an AS, though, and what a history!

Love Hoyt's, can't stand the Florida Water.

I really enjoy the Cloves in the Florida Water - it's a uniquely scented product.
I love the stuff and am never without it on the shelf. Very refreshing in hot weather like we have in SE Louisiana.
Good shave.....only 4 stitches
Don't like it as an aftershave, but for a mild pick-me-up scent it's great.

Pick up the Hoyt's. It's amazing stuff. There seems to be a prominent neroli note that I really dig.
I wish I could find the stuff locally. That way I wouldn't always have to stock up when I'm in Memphis and, otherwise, order online from hoodoo paraphanalia suppliers.

Realy love both the Hoyt's and the Florida Water. Definitely get them both. The Hoyt's should be immediately likeable. It does seem to be loaded with neroli. It took a while for the FW to grow on me, but it truly did grow on me.
Neither has much tenancity as a scent. I would pay a lot more for versions that did have some tenacity.
Well, the smell of the maple syrup is pretty much eliminated by the bergamot in Hoyt's and you don't notice it. I don't think there is anything strong enough in Florida Water to mask it. Of course, I've never tried it, so maybe someone needs to investigate this a bit further...![]()

Really? M&L at that Tom Thumb? I've found it (and bought it) at a Family Dollar in Denton (also picked up some of the knock-off Old Spice there) but how did florida water make it to Trophy Club? *shrugs* Who knows, but I'm definitely going to run by there and check it out -- thanks!
What I really want to find locally, though, is the Hoyt's. We may not be deep enough South for anyone to carry it.
Hoyt's has a long reputation for being used in hoodoo to feed mojo bags and as a general "aid" to gamblers, among a couple of other things.
Florida water has been used in hoodoo as well, but I've come across it more in Santeria, as well as general Cuban housekeeping/personal care.
