Mer: is it possible to just buy the knob and make the switch ourselves?

Yes, this is assuming that all the shafts have the same diameter end. Mine was 21/64" I believe. I'd have no problem just selling the knob for you to install but, I don't want to drill it oversized so it's a sloppy fit and I don't want it to be so close that some people will have problems and want to return them saying they don't fit.

    Man...

your craftsmanship makes me wanna go out and get one.
    But wait !!
    Since I am so lazy...
    what would your fee be
to buy, customize and ship a MER -Progress directly ?

I am guessing around $60 or so ??
    Just a thought.....

I think you are onto something Rick...may be the way to go for those without a Progress YET.

    Hi Rick,

I've thought of that too. I just paid about $45.50 shipped for a Progress from QED. I could do that and you'd save about $5.00 since you wouldn't have to ship it to me. You'd be looking at just under $80.00 to have me purchase it, modify it and ship it to you plus you'd only have to make one purchase instead of two and not have to worry about shipping it.

    Sorry about that "under" bid.
Havent really priced the Progress yet.
$80 for a custom MER-gress sounds pretty decent to me.
Might have to wait til after the B&B barrage wears off tho...

Eric, that is quite a commitment of capital to have to pre-purchase razors based on the hope that I express interest in one but then change my mind. Just something to think about unless they are prepaid.

They could just use his addy as the ship to, and bill to is the buyer's addy.

I'm sure if you talked to one of the regular dealers they would let someone buy a razor and ship it directly to me. That would eliminate the need for me to buy the razor up front. Might make it easier. It would also give the person piece of mind that I wan't trying to make money on the razors too since they would be buying it.

    (Great minds think alike) :)

Great looking mod. The ugly knob was one reason I didn't buy a Progress. Now how about an intake and nitro?

    Thanks Rob,

I'd have to add $1.98 for the intake and nitro and I honestly don't think the market will bear it. These shavers are a strange bunch.......

You know what would be sweet. Gift Sets. Customized Progress Razor and Matching shaving brush. Check out this site, scroll down the page and check out the brush heads. I bought 2 brush heads from him and they're very nice.

I'll be about 2.8 miles from Blankity-Blank's next week. I might actually start looking forward to visiting relatives in Dripping Springs.

Nice! If you're going to paint on the dots, may as well paint the numbers too, that would add a real nice finishing touch to it.

Is there any problem trying to turn that smooth knob with wet hands?
