  1. Default ouch... i need a leather pouch...

I was spending the night at a friends house. I had my toiletries in my bag and needed to get some soap, so i reach into the bag and go trough the stuff hoping to catch the bottle... what i didn't know was that my feather straight razor came out the scale... so i got my soap... and there was something red dripping down my arm... A pretty deep gash was in my middle finger. I was lucky that my nail was there otherwise it woud have sure taken of the top of my finger...

And seriously, i felt absolutely nothing. No sting nothing.

moral of the story... don't trust your scales, put your straight razor in a leather holster, especially when opting to travel. You might loose a finger.

DO NOT EVER PUT AN UNSECURED STRAIGHT RAZOR ANYWHERE YOU CANT SEE IT! Seriously. You're lucky you didn't snag a tendon or sever a nerve. Get one of the storage boxes for $5. Far more secure than a leather wallet

If it doesnt snap closed, the same problem could occur if its left in a washbag. Also, you could damage your edge if its banging about in-transit

Don't think so man. Certainly the Thiers Issard one doesn't, wich is why I sugested the plastic one, which works great and is nicely anonymous

That's EXACTLY what I was thinking. After all, no Sicilian can ever refuse a request on his daughter's wedding day.

Use a toothbrush holder for traveling with a straight. You can also find leather/pleather pen cases, for the pens that people turn on a lathe, fairly cheap and they work on a few of my smaller straights. Got one from the local Woodcraft.
