The Gillette Single Edge Razor

I came across an interesting patent today. It was filed by E.D. Chadwick for Gillette and it was approved Nov 1920. It is a Single Edge razor eek and it was designed to accommodate most widths of single edge blades. I guess the idea was to have a razor that could use the competition's blades - any blades. As they were about to enter the unsure world of no longer holding patent on their early razors, they may have been trying to cover all their bases.

I don't believe it ever went into production, but there must be some prototypes out there. (If someone wants to sell one to me, just PM!!! )

If you could find one, I wonder how much it would go for. Prototype-only production? That's got to cost a pretty penny.

It is really a great design for a single edge. Very, very simple. I would definately be happy to shave with that one!!
