Default Stickn' with it, already Upgraded

So I've only been wet shaving for a couple of weeks and from the first one on, I already knew that I was going to stick with using safety razors and doing the whole prep ritual.

With that said, I upgraded to the Merkur Vision
I know, I know...Im a newb and the Vision is the last thing that should be in my hand, but I did my homework on it and I felt confident enough to make the investment... by the way, Thanks John, from WestCoastShaving.com (Quick Ship, Excellent Communication)

I received it today and the instant I opened it, I took an afternoon shower and prepared for the shave.

I have to admit, when I opened up that tin can and saw the Vision, I was a little intimidated. But I slapped on the blade and started. I set it on "N" which was a little confusing cause you would think the "N" would be the most aggressive, but I guess this one was built a little weird and it really ended up being a little short of midpoint.

After all said and done, I am completely all about this razor! First pass was WTG and 2nd was ATG. Then touch-ups to little areas. I had a couple cuts on my neck but I think I got a little greedy and tried t0o many little strokes and ended up with a couple niks but nothing a styptic couldn't handle.

All in all, it was by far the closest shave I have ever had. My face doesn't hurt when I rub against it and it was only a little reddish for just a little while. Very Very happy with this purchase.

Now please stop me from buying the Futur and the Progress...I know I don't need them, but something about this new found love of mine makes me want to try everything out.

Congrats on the Vision! That is a very nice razor. I was thinking about getting one. I have the Progress and love it. Good luck!

    Welcome to B&B.

Won't try to stop you from trying other things. Nope! Would rather encourage you. But....

You really should stick to one thing for a little while. There's enough variables, and you'll never be able to separate out what works and doesn't if you change things around too much. For now, a really biggest variable is your lack of constistency in technique. Unless something's seriously broke, leave it alone. Once you get consistent results, you can change things around a little. Best to do that one thing at a time so you know it's that thing, and not who can tell?

You're just delaying the inevitable... think of it as saving the money that you would have spent on all of those DEs

Great advice. Thank You. I know I should wait a while in buying new razors. Realistically, I already have the "top of the line" razor in the Vision (atleast in meaning of cost). I hope I dont get the RAD bug.

You're not the only one! I bought my second razor within weeks of my first, and I didn't regret it one bit.

I'll go you one better. I bought my second razor three days before I got my first.

My wife rolled over and swore I was watching porn. I think she was even more concerned when she saw I was watching some dude shave his face. She said she would rather I had been watching porn...
