Up this evening is another razor that won't win any beauty contests, but performs beautifully. Quite a bit of staining and discoloration. Three-pin scales are a bit pinched in but otherwise in great shape. The blade centers well and doesn't hit the scales. Hone wear is light and even.
The best part: it's among my best shavers. I think Lynn Abrams once said (in his World of Straight Razor Shaving DVD?) that he'd never encountered a bad Henckels razor and I know what he's talking about. I've had several and they've all been superb shavers.
It was very easy to hone. (It WANTS to be sharp.) And the square point (I won't call it a "spike") is muted enough that it would be a great razor for a newbie.
US$43 including first class postage (padded envelope) in North America. Add $2 for international.
