We love photos.
Shavemac D-01 2-Band + DRH Lavender
Nice,
Shavemac makes wonderful brushes.
Welcome!
Now load it like you hate it :biggrin1:
This thread seems to be primarily about soaps, but it is also very much about using product and learning the nuances of said product with...
If you are referring to Tabac, the soap in the puck, the stick and the stick refill are all the same.
Grab some and enjoy it...... classic stuff!
Grab the soap- it is a great performer and (IMHO) superior to TOBS soaps. If you struggle at first, simply take the soap puck in your hand and rub it on your face as if it were a shave stick.
They are sweet. Congratulations!
The best part?
Not having to use a cartridge.
The EJ 89 is probably a good place to start. Semogue boars are also good quality (and very good value) although they take some break-in before they perform at their best. If you have the youngsters...
Probably answers your question.....
Weleda is good stuff. I nearly always use a splash, but if I were a balm guy Weleda would be a regular in my rotation.
I tend to use different products depending upon the time of year. Seeing as you are in Oz where the winters are not too savage, I would suggest trying Proraso, Speick or Skin Bracer splashes. They...
I use my soaps one puck at a time. The current one is DRH Lavender and it should last until mid-August or so.
Depends entirely on how much garage space you need to clean up....
Good to hear. I am using my D01 2-Band this week as well. It is a soap-killer and a great brush.
Shavemac D01 2-Band + DRH Lavender
I have a coat/hat stand at home which has space for 6 hats, but that one looks cool!
Great soaps- and another very nice week of shaves!
All the soaps which you have mentioned are good performers. Arko divides on scent, but I don't believe that anyone who has used it would disagree that it is good value.
Enjoy the new kit and...
A vintage Derby.
Yes please!
Taking to my DRH Lavender puck with a Shavemac D01 2-Band this week. I'm expecting to hear some suffering.
It will be worth your time to read the Vie Long edition of our Brush Chronicle series. There is quite a bit of discussion there regarding the properties of the brushes.
Shavemac D01 2-Band + DRH Lavender
I guess that it should still be ok as well- as long as the soap hasn't taken on a bad smell.
Nice haul!
I would go with the TGN knot...... and enjoy shaving with a brush which I had made myself!
They are both great- and Arlington is quite different to Windsor. Certainly room for all 3 in your den :001_tongu
Welcome back! :001_rolle
The B&B Essential boar would be a very reasonably-priced solution.
I can imagine someone finding the Chubby1 too small, but find it difficult to imagine anybody finding the Chubby2 too large.
This is my year of Harris- I am planning on using a puck of each of their 5 fragrances. Started with Almond, then Windsor and currently working on Lavender.
I have plenty of other soaps in the...
Irisch Moos is almost the same soap (apart from fragrance) but has sadly been discontinued.
I would recommend; Palmolive stick, Valobra stick, MWF, Harris, Czech & Speake
A great shave this morning with my DRH Lavender puck. Using my B&B 2012 brush (with the Shavemac knot), I couldn't have wanted for a better lather. A couple of relatively quick passes and out the...
Take a Palmolive stick.
Shave normally.
Enjoy the break!
Thanks for the write-up. That sounds like another good reason to go back and spend time in Dublin again soon.
The biggest hurdle for most cream shavers when moving to shaving soap is getting the same sort of lather quality. I would suggest that you grab a couple of easy-to-lather soaps and see how you like...
There is a certain type of finality to drawing that weapon out of your holster.....
Hard to believe that it took so long for someone to give the correct answer.
Thank you, sir!
I use both my brush and razor in both hands during a shave. Hand lathering doesn't make much sense to me.
