Very good interview! Thanks Jason and James for sharing.
If you settle on the 78G, the broad is actually an italic nib, and writes very nice. I found the medium 78g nib to be too fine for my liking.
But as Brian said, the B&B Essential is a very nice...
That is a beauty, Isaac! I have been eyeing the Nakayas myself for a while! As beautiful as they are, the only thing I am disappointed by is at this price point, the fact that the use a converter,...
Very nice Allen!
I have heard a lot about his inks, but never tried them for myself. Have they caused any issues at all with your pens? Do you use them with your more expensive pens?
Happy Thanksgiving to all! Enjoy the food, family and fun!
Very nice pen and PIF, Brian!
Congrats on the new VP! They have great nibs, very smooth and a bit of spring to them. Enjoy!
To me, the 78G with a fine nib was like writing with a needle. That being said, I find their medium nibs (78G and Metro) to also be on the fine and dry side.
Congrats on the new Pelikan! Be careful, those birds tend to multiply very easy!
Sailor 1911 Realo with a .8 mm John Mottishaw Stub inked with Sailor Jentle Epinard.
Many many nice pens guys! I am starting to feel pen purchase withdrawal!
Great pictures, Brian. Thank you for sharing. There were some beautiful pens at the show!
I just looked at my 78G (2), Metropolitan and Parallels. The 78Gs and Metro all came with the squeeze (cleaning) converter that the parallel have.
I am pretty sure the 580 is a comparable size to the 800.
Thanks James. I haven't played with my Parallels or 78G in a long time. I think I need to ink up the broad/stub...
I forgot that the cleaning converter did not have the full metal sleeve over it.
I will trade any of my TWSBIs that I have for that Conklin with the Toledo nib you showed me that time! That flexy nib was great!
Oh, sorry, I thought they were the same converter. I have both, have to take a closer look at them.
The funny thing is I think Pilot calls those squeeze converters, flushing converters. They come with the Parallel pens to flush them clean.
That Ebonite looks great, Larry! I would love to see a writing sample of that nib.
Pelikan M101N Lizard with broad nib with Edelstein Tanzanite.
I have never owned or used a Premiere so I cannot comment on that particular pen. I did want the Black one before they discontinued it.
What I can say is that Brian Grey turns a pretty darn...
Good luck, Sam! Hope you (get to :tongue_sm ) enjoy the pipe!
Thanks for the great review, James! Andy told me how to get around having to open the blind cap to have to refill the feed. When you take the pen apart, there is a rubber piece at the end of the...
Nice pen! That one came from Boris, I just put a new sac on it. Enjoy it!
Nice pens, Andy!
James, I look forward to your (hopefully unbiased) review! I think I may just ink up my TWSBI Vac 700 tonight in tribute. I like the pen quite a bit. It is a big pen,...

That is a very nice pen, Doug, congrats on finding it! I love the looks of the celluloid.
That is a beautiful pen, Doug!
Happy Birthday, Ed!
Andy, that sounds like a fun day! I would love to hear more about the Cider you made!
For today, I have my Pelikan M100N Lizard inked with Edelstein Tanzanite.
I never wrote with a Plaisir, though I have owned 2. They have the same nib as the Preppy though, and they are not bad at all. If you do not have a bulb syringe, you can just use the converter to...
Nice pen! Congrats to whoever traded for it!
I bought a Pelikano Jr. for both my 5 and 7 year old. They love it! I am also trying to teach them to write their names in script. My older daughter can write it pretty good already.
Did you flush out the pen before inking it up? Lamy test writes all of their pens with blue ink. If you did not flush it, you can have dried up old blue ink in there.
Also, if it is just the...
Great review, thanks James.
I really like this paper! It compliments the B&B Essential Covers very well!
Very nice pen! You should leave the pen in the ink after you close the lever. When you open it, you are actually squeezing the ink sac, expelling the air from it. It is not until you close the...
I like that ink very much!
Very nice looking pens, Larry!
Esterbrook nibs do unscrew easily. Another thing I do when flushing is give it a bit of a shake when it is filled with water.
The Green Esterbrook actually came from Boris, I just installed a new...
Very nice, James! I think I need to add this one to my ink collection... Would you believe, besides the B&B Folio, I cannot remember the last time I bought something pen related!
