Alden LWB Color 8
Put a 3 3/4lb brisket (rubbed with salt) and wrapped in cellophane in the fridge. Tomorrow, I will prepare Atlanta Brisket (using Coca-Cola).
Fun with Eggplant. Eggplant Timbale reprise and Eggplant Parm.
Put those shoes on display under glass.
Wear them in good health. :thumbup1:
The Indy boots, for the most part, are on the Trubalance last. You may have to contact your favorite Alden vendor to find wide sizes. The Shoe Mart appears to carry wider sizes.
After reading up on selvedge jeans, I decided to purchase several pair. Apparently, the only way to achieve denim bliss (fit that conforms to your body and great fades) is to wear them all the time ...
Back in the saddle today...
As well as breakfast for hangovers.
Shredded 3 potatoes (soaked in cold water and then drained) with two eggs over easy and some wheat toast. Griswold #10 and #5.
Mine has lasted as well and I have had it dry-cleaned several time. Remember... 40 bucks.
They actually have some pima cotton cardigans for around $18.
Go to Jos. A. Banks and get yourself a Navy cardigan. For around 40 bucks you get a nice merino wool sweater that is a versatile sweater which you can wear under a sport coat or with a pair of jeans...
After the mention of the Bathtub Gin, I went to the QED site and noticed the QED soap selection was very limited. Too bad. They were wonderful soaps.
People who think loafers (especially Alden Color 8 tassel loafers) are passe are old-fashioned.
I remember that Bathtub Gin. Man, that was good stuff. I may need some more of that. :yesnod:
The Haslinger Schafmilch bit the dust today.
10-1-14 to 10-23-14
This soap is very good. It provided a very slick cushion and was very easy to dial in. It was consistent throughout the time I...
Wait a minute. Now I remember. Those are your pizza shoes.
Well then, they're new to me.
Kickin' it. Color 8 rocks. Recent acquisition?
Nice comparison. Really depicts the differences between calf and shell.
This is all the power brush you'll need. They run on elbow grease.
shell cordovan + selvedge = perfect
Like I said... AE chili. :thumbup1:
Post a photo. The creases may be an indication as well.
Thanks. Just some Kiwi and an old t-shirt and "bulling" the cap. I really can't do a comparo since I only own an AE loafer and their suede bucks. By the time I was done with J&Ms, I had moved on...
J&M Crown Aristocraft Georgetown II Cap Toe
Nice. From that site, I just learned that my boot is not a 929 Saxon but rather a 929 Ben boot. The Saxon is made with distressed leather while the Ben is made from a waxy leather (which is the one...
They look very nice. If they are older then they were probably made in England. (It should be imprinted on the sole.) More recently, the Docs are being made in China. I believe some are still made...
Nice looking Docs. Were they made in England?
Henry, those just may be the most versatile shoes on the planet. Great-looking shoe
Today: Alden Shell Cordovan Medallion Tip Blucher
Johnston & Murphy cap toe. These are 10+ years old and very comfortable. :yesnod:
Looking good. :thumbup1:
I need to get some oil on my Iron Rangers as well.
The AE chili is a great color, especially this time of year. As for the tutorial... Go for it.
Ahh yes. Many moons ago...
Not an uncommon tale. When you do, the shaves are excellent.
So, today I posted this picture in the Shoes of the Day thread. A pair of Melchior by Mephisto.
After posting it, I looked at...
Mephisto Melchior. Before and After polishing. Same shoe, same day.
Ok. How long to finish the brain bowl?
Two months, three months, five months...
The AEs accessibility (online and there are plenty of B&M locations), the variety of their selection, the availabilty of their shoes (I waited almost two years for a particular pair of Aldens to...
Great color on those.
Thank you! And those are great looking shoes too.
With the last five Shoes of the Day posts, I was starting to feel a bit self-conscious.
It was like a hanging...
