Plausible, but I think the Above The Tie stainless steel razors will give them a run for their money. A bargain at $19,999.
My current mainstays:
C&E West Indian Lime
Classic Shaving Rose
D.R. Harris Almond
Mike's Hungarian Lavender
Voskhod ... Восход ... no matter how you spell it, they didn't work for me.
Dropped my MWF ceramic bowl into the sink and it shattered. All that's left now is the lid.
The "paint scrapers" may look the same as SE blades but they are not shave-worthy. The shave-worthy blades are in a different class altogether, and compare favorably with the very best DE blades....
Sounds loike you'll be fittin' in pure well 'ere. Failte! :badger:
I've been getting them at Zamberg's (here). They sell them under the Premax mark, but it's the same razor. Very reasonable prices.
PS: The product descriptions incorrectly say the razors are made...
Yes, absolutely. It took me a few weeks to hit my stride with the 2011 R41. Be patient, and give it time.
When that happens, I simply unscrew the handle a turn, hold the head with the tab ends of the blade between my thumb and index finger, and center the blade as I re-tighten it. No problem.
Exactly why I've never been tempted by a slant, and -- I know, never say "never" -- never will be.
Nice find. Let us know how it shaves.
Great razor, at a great price. To clean it up, all you need do is soak it in some warm water and mild dish-washing liquid, then gently scrub it with a very soft old toothbrush or soft cloth. For...
Fatip. I own 6 of them and I've never had a problem with the finish. If you like it, you will probably want to invest in a better handle for it, though. For a shorter handle, I highly recommend the...
Great start! It will only get better. Welcome to B&B! :badger:
Welcome to the madness! :badger:
Fatip is my all-time favorite razor. I have several, including the Premax Ruthenium, which may or not be the same finish as the gunmetal. (The orange stripes in the pic are reflections; the finish is...
Then you must try Mike's Hungarian Lavender soap! Aromatic and earthy, it's one of my favorites.
And for something completely different: Dr. Selby's Lavanda cream. A kind of medicinal scent that...
Wow, what a great start! Welcome aboard! :badger:
Makes sense. Thanks for the info., and let us know how it works out.
This is the kind of arrant pedantry up with which I will not put! :hand:
On one level, I admire your exacting standards. On another, I feel that if taking minor precautions will avoid the problem, it would be worth it if the razor delivers an excellent shave. I've not had...
Absolutely a valid question. Yes, the razor makes a difference. If you try different razors yourself -- after you've established a solid baseline technique -- you'll see the differences. I think the...
I used to remove the blade and rinse and dry the razor after each shave, but lately I've been lax and only do it at blade-change time (with no ill effect to my nickel- and gold-plated razors)....
What is it made of -- the spacer a/k/a shim?
+a million. Used this very razor this morning.
Also works beautifully with UFO handles -- Kaiser Short shown below.
1) I used one and two shims with my Weber DLC razor, and they both made a noticeable difference. (Obviously, two shims made more of a difference than one.)
2) To make a shim, just use a sharp...
This is why I'm hoping that, with medical advances, I'll be able to continue shaving after I'm dead.
That, and the sheer pleasure of shaving while dead, of course.
What's not to like about patchouli? Used in perfumes and incense, and doubles as an insect repellent.
Vintage: NEW LC. Modern: Fatip + a Weber Bulldog handle (pic).
Hungarian Lavender is really special.
Congrats, it's a great feeling, isn't it?
Theoretically possible -- like the Higgs boson, only much less likely.
Congrats! Nice setup. The experience will only get better. :badger:
All best to you and your son for a quick recovery. I hope that the distracted truck driver gets his just deserts.
Worth quoting, so that your epiphany doesn't get lost in the shuffle.
Congrats on finding a razor that works well for you! Enjoy. :badger:
I use my dominant (right) hand for both sides. Do whatever works for you.
