I do, but I'm glad I started when I did.
It's a brushless shave gel, not an ASB.
As others have said, the scent is a pure lavender essential oil scent. It compares favorably to CF in both scent and performance.
I actually slightly prefer the RR Castle lavender hard soap to CF.
Bvlgari Aqua and Acqua di Gio are two more to check out in your price range.
The face feel with Brain Freeze is very nice, but unlike Proraso no cooling sensation. Based on that, I give Proraso the edge for post shave feel.
This soap reminds me of other eucalyptus based...
Quite likely.
If I have a new soap, I'll use it for a few days to evaluate it and break it in. Other than that, I rotate soaps based on the season and scent.
Completely agree. More menthol and this soap would be at the top of my summer rotation.
The KotC Brain Freeze hard soft is more of a hard soft soap, if that makes sense. All of these hard soaps are more or less the consistency of Proraso soap. The scent is similar to RR 888. I get a...
I concur. The only good thing is that there is still C&S and the Valobra stick, which I grate into a bowl. Both of which are nearly identical to tallow AoS.
AoS Lavender (tallow version)
MdC
vintage Yardley
I have two pucks of GFT: violet and rose. The violet is pretty good, but the rose is absolute garbage.
This is accurate. My secretary practically demands that I wear Polo Black on a semi-regular basis.

Fantastic score!
Red IPs are the worst for me. They're dull and tug like I'm using a cartridge. Derbys aren't bad for me.
While they're not that sharp, I find them very smooth. I usually can't tell that there's a...
Polo Black is nice and gets plenty of compliments. On the downside, it is a bit synthetic and not very original. Double Black is the better of the two for me, but Black smells nice.
MW has a small/narrow sweet spot, but when you find it, it's a very good soap. Some people can't lather it. It took me a long time, but I finally got the hang of it.
DR Harris lathers easily for...
I've heard nothing but bad things about the West Indian Lime. I believe it's a different formula than the other soaps. I hope C&E isn't reformulating all the soaps to the same formula as the Lime...
Aqua Velva has the most, based on my experience. All three have quite a bit though.
+2
For me it's the combination of that specific type of Rooney Heritage hair combined with the extraordinary density of the old XL brushes. My gel tip 2XL and newer 3XL are quite different from one...
My puck of Sienna works nicely. It's no MdC or tallow AoS, but it's decent for me.
Tallow AoS is fantastic in all of its scents. Still my favorite soap. Lavender is my favorite scent of the bunch.
Here's my top 5
1. Germany
2. Italy
3. France
4. United States
5. England
I'd recommend:
Merkur 34C (you'll never need another razor)
Tweezerman badger brush or any Semogue boar (you can use the Tweezerman every day but the boar will need a day off in between shaves to...
You have two very mild razors there. Even though the Merkur 1904 is an open comb, it might be milder than the R89. I'd try a middle of the road razor, like the Merkur 34C before I got a slant or...

The SOC is great. If you want to stick with Omega, the Pro 49 might be what you're looking for.
As for badger brushes, the Simpson Commodore mentioned above would work nicely. Also, the Rooney 3/1...
I love my 37G and my vintage Merkur slant. The vintage model seems to have slightly less blade exposure compared to its modern counterpart.
I'm willing to break up the soap lot.
CF- $23 per tub shipped conus
I'll go $9 shipped on any of the other soaps
Typos fixed.
First I have a Thater 2-band 4125/1 in bulb shape. I've used the brush about 6 times. It doesn't shed, and it's in perfect condition. The backbone on this brush is underrated in my opinion. It's a...
I wasn't going to miss it again today. Couldn't get any of the BB though.
Got the Fern this morning.
I don't buy as many products as I did in the beginning.
The only new products I buy now are high end soaps that either I haven't tried or that I'm stockpiling, and the occasional new brush.
The...
1305 or the SOC.
The SOC probably isn't for you, and the 830 might be too big also.
Looks like I missed it today.
Semogue SOC
I agree with VerbaVolant's comments.
If you want a softer badger brush, you'll need to spend a bit more and get a Rooney 3/1 in Super Silvertip or maybe a Simpson in 3-band Super. There are, of...
