From my perspective, it’s lots of fun to talk about shave products, but the specific razors, blades, brushes and soaps most of us use have little importance to the resulting shave. Once a man has begun using products with some minimum standard of quality most easily achieve, buying more or “better”...

I know it is fun to look at some of the amazing collections or ultra rare razors that some people have. But it is also fun, for me at least, to look at the gear that people start out with. When I very first started out I had a VDH boar and VDH soap that I kept in a coffee mug (I can still tear...

We've done threads featuring Japanese razors, razors by Greaves and most recently, Swedish razors. Now we'll tackle one of the few remaining manufacturers. Founded in 1884 by Pierre Theirs, Thiers Issard razors have been described elsewhere on B&B as jewelry for gentlemen. Indeed, their ad copy...

I have missed being on this board for several months because of an injury to my son. In Nov. 2012, my son was in an automobile accident and suffered a C2 and a T12 spinal cord injury. My wife and I have devoted 100% of our effort to his rehabilitation since then and I am home for the first weekend...

Got a big box from MDC today.
Thread Starter: Lather2 Fougere, 1 brain bowl, 1 original SAR, 1 Camomille AS, Osma alum, and some fougere soap samples. Took about 10 days and didn't get dinged for extra duties. The scent has already filled the dining room. I can't wait to try out the fougere. I have one more shave with the IOTW Proraso red.
