Otto Roth/Gillette New Long Open Comb

    Thread Starter: mistercitizen

Does anyone know anything more about this Otto Roth razor? I've read a few threads from the past, but I'm particularly curious about the handle. It's kind of like a thin common bar handle.... but not really? I'm not an expert in the Gillette New Long Open Combs.... but I know that this is...

    R41 or Adjustable?

    Thread Starter: striker6

This has come up lately and I'm pretty sure I'm going to get the 'Technique' pep talk... BUT... I'm still having some difficulty with those trouble spots (neck, jawline). I fairly certain my prep, lather and post are up to snuff since I do get comfortable shaves. I know I should be happy about...

I finally figured out blade angle.

    Thread Starter: thekingoflegoland

I just started using a safety and kept in mind blade angle. I always thought that I had it at a good angle but no matter what, I was getting really bad razor burn. I figured it was the type of razors I was using. Derby single edge blades. So I always blamed the razors for the razor burn. Until...

Only used blade 1 time - how do you store it? How do you mark it?

    Thread Starter: mikeeliaspgh

What do you do with blades that you only used once - how do you store them? / mark them to know that you only used it once? Wondering what different systems people have come up with?

What Sound Do You Love To Hear?

    Thread Starter: SteveWY

Living in such a digital world, we sometimes get disconnected by the real and audible world around us. I have been listening to the rain today and the singing of the birds recently. I was wondering what the gentlemen at the "Barbershop" enjoy hearing. What do you love to hear? Do certain sounds...

Tabac - Smells Like a Thrift Store or Mothballs & Roses?

    Thread Starter: Seattle

Stopped by the Perfumania where they had Tabac Original for 50% off. Got a sample on my wrist, and 4 hours later I can't remove the smell. Looking for my can of Xylene to neutralize this stuff. To each his own, but to me, it smells like grandma's stale closet full of mothballs and expired rose...

    SOTD: 20 - 26 May 2013

    Thread Starter: BRuhling

B&Bers, last week was yet another fabulous showing. The SOTD is by far the best thread on this forum. And it is all because of your contributions! I'm starting off this week with a Chandler pattern welded steel blade. It was a velvet squeegee and I am a happy man!

    What Makes a Good Silvertip

    Thread Starter: Chadao

I've been around here for a while and read lots of posts. I've bought 5 badger and 4 boar brushes. The best badger I have bought is a Whipped Dog 24mm Silvertip. I like it, but is there a way to judge without have an expensive brush to compare against?

    Just a little hello

    Thread Starter: sdriv3r

Hi! Ive discovered the world of shaving with a de rasor about 4 monyhs ago. Before that i was an owner of a gilette fusion, which i used once a month mostly because of irritated shaves and cartrige price. I used to carry a light beard /scrub that was trimmed down from time to time. After lurking...
