LIST CLOSED as of 5/20/13

You can't post here directly, so please send me a PM if interested in trying out the two Titanium prototypes that I recently created.

Rules: (borrowing from another passaround thread):
- Must have been a member for at least 3 months
- Must have at least 100 posts or more
- Keep it for a week or less (so that we can get all folks in the list to try them in a reasonable amount of time), and ship it to the next on the list. It is up to you to get the shipping information and to provide shipping to the next person. I will keep the list updated. You must send me a PM and let me know when you received the two handles, and a second PM when you ship them.
- Please do not make any modifications/changes to the handles. If for some reason a DE head will not screw in, please don't force anything, and let me know what DE head it was that gave you problems.
- Please ship the package insured for $100 when passing it to the next person.

The handles are being tested at the USN forum, so it will be another week or two before I get them, so that we can start the passaround here.

List updated 5/20/13:

List closed - at about a week per user, this would be 7 weeks already, and I do need the feedback from folks as to what to improve/do differently, so I am closing the list now.

1. mattdenicola
2. EFaden
3. Samjax
4. AABCDS
5. Super Speed 1953
6. retrolike
7. Merkur25

List closed for now. Depending how smoothly this passaround goes, I will consider having another later on.

I've had quite a few emails about shave soap samples so I'm going to be adding them to the site. I've been selling the samples for 1.00 each, and each sample is 3 inches in diameter and around 1 cm in depth. Each sample is enough to do a few weeks worth of shaves; three samples are about a full puck. I can fit six shave samples into a padded mailer and keep it under the thirteen ounce limit for first class mail at $4.00 shipping cost, so the total for 6 samples shipped is $10.00. I can also do three shave samples and a full-size bar of bath soap for the same price for those who would like to try the bath soap as well.

For now, it's not up on the site at stirlingsoap.com, as today is reserved for the playing the ponies, and tomorrow will be making up for all the studying I should be doing today. However, until I get the sampler pack up on the website, you can PM me here or use the contact form on the website with what you would like to try and I'll send you a custom invoice.

Thanks -- Rod

Most of the have been used on a couple of times, some are still unused (I think this is called hoarding....or so..).
One of the Floris soap comes in Mama Bear wooden bowl, the others are all in the original Floris wooden bowl.

Knize Ten, used a few times, $30
Trumper's violet, used twice, $23
Sandalo Boise - unused
Bergamotte Neroli - unused
Cuore di Lavanda - unused
Tabacco Verde - used 3 x
Crema de Barba (blue tub, lid is cracked and was taped, but soap is fine) - used 3x
Take them all for $30

Here a couple replated Gillettes and other razors. They have been replated in bright nickel. The plating is thicker than what Gillette provided and these razors have been rescued for a second life.
They are all mechanically sound but some may show some blemishes beneath the new plating from its old life and from where it was hung for plating(only noticeable under bright light and on screw head caps)and does not affect razors’ finish and performance.
Prices are based on cost of razor, plating and final appearance.
For further questions, pic requests, nickel replate inquiries don't hesitate to PM me.
Paypal only. Razors are shipped via paypal first class shipping w/delivery confirmation if you have a shipping address listed on paypal.
International shipping please PM me.

1. Replated LC NEW in case with blade holder. Here's a LC NEW in a brilliant finish. It comes with a case and a blade holder I tried to plate but it has marks of where I hung it (I'm still trying to figure out how to do it). There are some finger print marks on some of the pics and some small marks under top head cap from where it was hung. Judge by the pics. $43 Shipped SOLD
2. Replated Otto Roth thin bar LC NEW. The bottom cap and thin handle are absolutely sparking. When I got the razor there are some chips under the top cap from who knows what but I put a blade on it and compared it to other NEW's I have so it doesn't affect the shave. Due this flaw I'll let it go for $37. $37 Shipped SOLD
3.X1 Gillette Black tip, aluminum. There are dark spots on handle and some brassing under head. Otherwise, it's in clean condition and mechanically sound. A nimble shaver. $16 shipped
4. 1947 Gillette Aristocrat. Really good condition, no brassing but the lacquer is wearing off and I haven't removed it. Once it's removed, it'll be nice and shiny. Comes in box and blade case. $45 shipped SOLD
5. A2 Gillette Red Tip in case. Really good condition with regular wear throughout. Plating is intact. One slightly lazy silo door and small chip on red tip. The case is also in really good condition with minor scratches that probably can be buffed off with McGuires plastic polish. Closes and snaps securely. $38 Shipped REDUCED to $33 Shipped

Some razors I have reserved for some members. Number 3 is $35 due to the bar preventing it from slipping through broke off. Otherwise, its same as the others.

Razors #1, 2, 5, have been reserved for Firewalker, toeknee, and jpgalyon . If any of you want to change, please let me know.

Razors will be limited to 1 per person. I have sold more than one to members before only to see them on Ebay for twice what I sold.

For Dorco blades 3 are on reserve and I have 4 left. I will sell one for $5 with any purchase of the handles. (All packs are sold)
I also have two CJB (non folding) handles left for $30

Last but not least, I would like to buy an 8/8 or bigger choppers. I've missed some on the BST so hoping someone is looking to get rid of their. Patina is fine , but excessive pitting and hone wear is not.

Thanks BB!!
I am in the process of moving so I will ship all items out on Tuesday 5/21. I will post all tracking numbers via Paypal.

Well, the scholarship money has been transferred to the school and all the applications have come in. I’m going to spend this week with the other teachers reading through them all and picking the 2 or 4 most deserving. There are only 8-10 applications so hopefully it won’t be TOO challenging. :) I’m so excited and proud to be able to give this money away.

The one thing I’m nervous about though, my hands shake a little thinking about it, is getting up on stage at graduation, in front of 2-3 thousand people. YES. Thousand. Mountain Pine may only have about 40 seniors graduating, but everybody comes to the graduation. My first year at MP I couldn’t believe how many people were in the convention center for graduation. I expect it to be the same this year. Yikes. It’ll be okay as long as I can keep my voice steady. :P My hands may shake off of my arms, but the voice has to be steady. OOohhh…. breathe Newton….

And then there’s a little experiment I performed for a customer of mine. When he asked I told him, I said I might not do a very good job, I won’t charge you for the work, only the nib itself. He said it was worth $100 bucks for the nib to see what I could do. Okay. Awesome. So I started flexing a 14k nib. It’s not as soft as a vintage 14k flexy, like on my old Diamond Point or Swan, but more like a vintage Pelikan. It’s soft when you write with it – but certainly no wet noodle. I may end up shaving some more off the sides. I want him to play with it for a while first before I make any more changes. He may love it.
All prices include shipping to CONUS and APO's, I am going to have to restrict it to CONUS only due to ever increasing prices and loss of international items.
Japanese natural stone.
I don't know much about this stone but I have used it a good bit.
If I was guessing a hardness , I would say 4, in a 1-5.
