I used a medium nib with some F&C Black Magic Ink. There is still some feathering (not much) and very little bleed. I really like the way the notepad looks. I would have loved to buy some of the pocket notebooks (A4s) but they don't come with any elastic bindings which is something I need. The price is fantastic as well. For anyone looking at getting some quality paper for a good price I would look into this. Take care gents.
Does anyone know where i can buy any Metropolitan pens with a Broad nib instead of having to buy more Metro pens to use their barrels?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you and have a great week.

I am not desiring to get into FP at this point because of all the extra learning that will take. I am sure I will begin the FP journey down the road though.

What I am looking for is a pen that will help me through my hand writing lessons. To this point I have just used basic Bic pens or whatever I've had laying around. I've heard the Pilot G2 and Uni-Ball 207 are good but I have nothing to base it on.

Any suggestions (obviously a YMMV request) would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your time,
They saw me bring in the box when I bought my Lamy Vista, and the full bottle of kon-peki. They have watched me fill it on a couple of occasions and have expressed mild interest.

Then today, someone was at my desk to ask a question and wanted to write the answer down. She grabbed my Vista and before I could warn her she went to write with it. She jumped back a bit and then said 'Wow, thats like an old ink pen!" She went on to tell me she really liked it and how great it wrote.

I am waiting for the additional questions now about where to get one, etc. but that hasn't come yet!

I did some internet searching on how to do this and it seems a lot of people seem to agree on one technique. It involves using your arm (mostly your shoulder/ neck area) to write. So I have been giving this a go and man is it bad. Still trying to figure out exactly how to hold my hand with the pen. Do I let it rest on the paper? It feels more comfortable doing that and the pen tends to keep on it's path easier.

I like the way the pen writes. It is smooth but still has a grip to the paper that I like the feel of.

My parents were over yesterday and I asked my dad if he was still using his Parker 75 Sterling. It's all I can remember him writing with and always filled from a bottle of green Quink.

He told me that he still has 3 but had retited them due to leakage (and I expect they might have worn over the past 3+ decades of intensive use). Recently he found a stash of Parker 88's which he bought with his company logo in the late 80's. These were intended as gifts to business relations. This pen has been his nib of choice over the past months.

He gave me the one he was carrying (filled with green Quink of course).

It's a very nice writer, I love the combination of the weight of the brass and the feel of the epoxy coating.

To my surprise, the fine nib puts down a line as thin as my fine nibbed Pilot 78G but it does feel smoother.

hello gentlemen, I bought this pen (my first vintage FP) relatively cheaply and it even has the original sticker on it. It arrived in the post today and the nib was all mashed up; it was slightly bent and twisted and there was no tipping material remaining which disappointed me a bit, and then when I had a look around the pen I discovered that the J-Bar was broken ... even more disappointing! I really like the look of the pen but don't really know how to remove the remainder of the J-Bar then replace it, or even where or which nib to buy... the current nib says platignum 1st quality. the seller claimed all was fine in the listing and said he had fully restored it and replaced the sac... it is very nicely polished but would not call it 'restored'! I don't know what to do, I would really like to have this pen in a working condition but I simply don't know how to make it that way...
