I have been very fond of my Limes Skin Food - actually its the only thing Ive used in years, so I figured its time to try something else.
So, today I picked up Aqua Velva Ice Blue (one of my grandpas favorites) and Skin Bracer Green. I bought each for $2.98 at a small grocery store in North East Georgia. A pretty damn good deal IMHO. I probably would have never bought it if it were not for the AS of the Week thread, thinking it was just plain cheap crap.
When I return home from this trip I will make sure to try them out right away. I think the next few Ill attempt to source will be:
1. Speick AS
2. Proraso AS (I love the shaving cream & pre shave cream - I use them all the time)
3. Floid Blue
Thanks to all those that contribute helpful threads like the ASOTW, it helps newbies like me a lot.

I am a huge Limes fan so of those you've listed I say just stick with the Limes Skin Food! Seriously though, if you like the AV Ice Blue you should give Booster Polar Ice a try. Also, Boosters Mosswood is a great scent. You don't have to spring for the pricey stuff all of the time. There are other good options. I also like Proraso for that nice cooling effect in the summer.

I came home last night from vacation and decided to shave after a nice hot shower.
QED Limes Soap
Merkur Vision
Merkur Plat blade
Thayers Lavender Witch Hazel
Aqua Velva Ice Blue
I wasn't sure what to expect initially. The burn is rather noticeable - but no where near what I had imagined. The cooling factor was very nice. I never really experienced something like it before. Remember I have pretty much always used Lime Skin Food and Dr. Harris Pink.
So this is definitely a refreshing change. I did ask the wife what she thought of the smell... Heres what she said "Yuck - you smell like my dad." & "That stuff is way too strong". LOL! No biggie or surprise for that matter, I kind of expected something like that...
Still the experience was rather nice if I do say so myself.

I've found this can go either way depending on the relationship with the dad. Luckily the scent fades rather quickly.

My wife LOVES the AV Classic and Musk, she's not that crazy about the Sport. Unfortunately, her grandfather wears Clubman, so she's not to into me wearing it. I have to choose my Clubman days carefully.

AV hasn't let me down yet.
You'll love the Speick--I just used it for the first time today. Stellar

Speick is great stuff. It's full of extra good, good for you face stuff like Witch Hazel, Alum, Glycerine, and other special stuff.
Can't go wrong with the Proraso splash, too.
