A little help with the ID Gentlemen? Thanks... And, just for fun: What should I have paid for it :001_huh:

Let me know if I missed the shot you need to ID and I will try to remedy it!

This came in today:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280361411520

Wasn't able to snap pics, I will later, however it was quite a good deal. The case is a near-total-loss as the leather is disintegrating but the razor itself is in gorgeous shape. No plate loss, just a bit of the gold wash worn off of a corner of a silo door. I wouldn't call it minty but it's better than I expected and is 100% mechanically.

A bunch of ebay-straights:

A NOS Hoffritz 5/8 with "Spezial Work" on the blade.
A Giesen&Forsthoff 4/8 Timor.
And finally, a Jonathan Crookes 5/8.

Is anybody willing to help me date and value them? These are my first ebay pickups, so I'd like to learn.

I got it pretty bad this week.

I was in Dallas for the 4th and decided to hit up a couple antique malls.

Scored a literally unused complete Rolls Razor kit for 9 dollars, and a Puma 88 straight razor for $14.95.

I got an original Old Spice glass ceramic mug, an ancient shave brush as well.

Then, my brother decided to give me his AoS Sandalwood set complete with all three products and another genuine badger brush.

Then, I get home to find a package on my front porch that was delivered while I was gone. A Shavemac 21mm, a tube a Speick, and a tub of Tobs Mr. Taylor.

Needless to say, it's been a good weekend, and my den is filling up quick. No thanks to you guys

I am catching up from acquisitions over the past few weeks. The first couple are restores done by Max over at SRP. The picture credits also go to him as well (his photography skills are much better than mine). The first is my Torrey, which is a near wedge rescaled with Bolivian Rosewood, and the second is a Simmons No. 421 Barberspet rescaled with Wenge Wood.

Today the wife scored me a H-4 slim adjustable. It was all gunky with dried lather. After 10 minutes with the brasso and a toothbrush (not my good one) you cant tell its ever been used. The score about it was the price tag .25 cents and the lady tried to give her the quarter back.

Ooh! Tallow first English Fern! Nice!

Yeah it's nice. I just took it for another spin about 30 minutes ago...funny thing is I seem to get more weepers and alcohol sting after using EF with Tallow first. Oh well, guess I just need to make some adjustments and figure out what I'm doing wrong.

Great for shaving, and wonderful to admire. Luckily there were instructions included.... how else could I learn the intricacies of this old aristocrat? Smooth, shiny with that great rhodium, and so well-weighted. If they only made them like now like they used to!

Seems like the Brits can't be beat when it comes to pre-WWII quality razors. And this #77 was presented in a silver box, not the usual bakelite. An aluminum handle, but the head looks to be shiny as rhodium. Possible? A really sweet shaver and a fine addition for the colection! Anyone have an instruction brochure for this little guy?

All above in used but very serviceable condition, plus

George Wostenholm & Sons Barber's notch 5/8 -- excellent shape, no stains or pitting, needs minor honing.

Total cost: $59.

And, she says, she's got a lot more stuff she'll bring in for me to look at.
