I'm not sure what he uses, perhaps a two bladed pivot head model(with an aloe strip). I personally think he's a wet shaver.

I would agree on the electric. I doubt he has time for a wet-shave.

I agree. However, I doubt that he does the traditional brush and soap thing. I bet he would be eternally grateful to whoever turns him onto the ritual though. However, I don't think our tax dollars could afford the ensuing ADs

I'd be shocked if the Secret Ser Service allowed a barber to shave the president, and if they did, I'm virtually sure they would not permit the use of a straight.

I agree completely. I would bet dollars to donuts that a "good ole boy" like Bill Clinton knew well the pleasure of kicking back for the pleasure of a good barber's straight shave.
I am actually astounded that someone might think that the White House barber hasn't been vetted sufficiently to offer the Pres. a fine straight shave...how dumb are we? I may criticize the Pres., whoever he is, but I'm sure that the staff can be trusted not to kill him. How much easier would it be to do the job with a straight than with a hair scissor? Are we really a third world country that has to worry this much?

I always had images of the president sitting in a chair with his suit on and a towel over his face, talking on the phone or reviewing the day’s schedule with a secretary, a barber a couple feet away, stropping his blade. The president excuses himself from business for 10 minutes and the towel comes off. The barber, with a perfectly lathered brush and impeccably sharpened razor goes to work and in 10 minutes gives the president the smoothest face in the free world.
I don’t know, but that image seems to fit. The job demands some class after all.

I was planning to stop by his old barber shop the last time I was in Chicago--I used to live in the same neighborhood and I thought that I'd drop in and get an old school trim. The barbers there have all kinds of stuff from the Pinaud family lined up in front of the mirror, and I wanted to see if the President liked to get a little Lilac Veg splashed on after a haircut. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to get over there. I did hear that his barber from Hyde Park was going to continue to take care of him in DC, but I haven't kept up with that story.
Here's a link to the shop's webpage:

If you decide to go by for a cut, you should plan to go to Valois ("See your food") for a great cafeteria meal. Make a day out of it and check out the Checkerboard for some good Chicago blues.

As to Obama's barber
Barack Obama's longtime barber is hoping to follow his most-famous client to the White House. Zariff, who has been cutting the President-elect's hair for nearly 15 years at the Hyde Park Hair Salon, told CBS 2 that the two talked about it shortly after Obama launched his campaign.
"I said, 'I'm going with you' [if you win]," to which Zariff said Obama replied, "Absolutely. I'm not changing barbers, man."http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/11/12/will-obamas-barber-follow_n_143422.html
No word on what he actually shaves with, I would assume it's a modern cartridge but who knows.

He probably has electrolysis. Somewhere along the line, American politicians after about Taft quit even being real enough to even wear a damn moustache. I guess it's supposed to give them an appearance of honesty and approachability. They're all a bunch of game show host, pimp, gangsters! He probably sits down to pee as well. We now live in an era where politicians want to be rockstars, and rockstars want to be politicians. So far as I can tell, only one of those professions requires any talent or competence. (Hint: it isn't the politician)
Someone may as well wonder what brand of toilet paper the man uses?

I personally doubt it. I see him with a Fusion and a can of higher end shave goop. Definitely no DE or Str8's unless it is with a professional barber.

I'm leaning towards a professional shave. He's always far to clean shaven for a electric guy (unless he caries one with him everywhere he goes) and I've rarely if ever seen a 5 o'clock shadow. Then again his complexion is leaning more towards the darker side and he doesn't look to me to have a heavy growth pattern.

I'd bet dollars to donuts that this is actually the case. I'd guess he's got electric razors ready to go in his limo, in AF1, Marine 1, various places in the White House, etc. When time is critical and you're making dozens of appearances over the course of a day, you don't have a lot of opportunity to lather up and the odds are good you just have to squeeze in a "touch-up" whenever you need to.

Apparently the last major-party political candidate with facial hair was Thomas E. Dewey in 1948.

The more interesting question is how many times a President shaves per day.
The over/under would probably be set at three. Presidential stubble became a major no no after the Nixon/Kennedy debates. Reagan and W. Bush were always much more well groomed when they were splitting wood or clearing brush than I ever was when doing "farm work." Compare the iconic photo of Reagan with his cowboy hat tilted up to the Marlboro Man. Gore was apparently so tired of shaving that he grew a ridiculous beard when he was on hiatus.
As to the original question, obviously Obama was using a Senator and now uses a President. He gave the Diplomat to Hillary and a Tuckaway to Biden while stashing him away from the media in an undisclosed location. The Aristocrat Jr. that was in the White House returned to Texas via Kennebunkport.
He rotates a Senator a Diplomat and an Aristocrat.

I don't know. They won't even allow barbers who service us military types to use straight razors for anything (years ago they were allowed to use them to clean up the neck line). Some places barbers aren't even allowed to use scissors and our only option is a clipper cut. Keep in mind these people must pass security screening prior to being hired as well. I'm thinking that if a barber can't get near a buck private with a pair of scissors theres no amount of screening that's allowing anyone near the neck of the President of the United States with a straight razor.
I agree completely. I would bet dollars to donuts that a "good ole boy" like Bill Clinton knew well the pleasure of kicking back for the pleasure of a good barber's straight shave.
