Do you believe this or what. And $20 USPS Priority from Vegas. You got to be joking. And this is a new Ebay seller and this is his only item?

The only other place I have seen that exact bakelite case was with an ultra rare set containing a standard Goodwill. It is shown on page 240 of Krumholz and is listed for $110 back in 1992. It would not surprise me in this razor/case combo is worth that money in today's market.

an item for sale on ebay (or anywhere else) is worth what someone else is prepared to pay for it- if someone out there is willing to part with $499 then that is the value of it, regardless of what anyone else may think.....in this case I think the price is VERY steep for that particular item, but it only needs one person to think it's worth it for the sale to be a success and in our world there are many fools who are readily parted from their money

Yup! Just like that. I had no idea you had one of those sets, Achim. I usually check out all your other pages but for some reason totally ignored your Goodwill page. Those Empire sets are awesome, as well!

Evidently, the poker chip auction had two bidders. Those chips must have had some sentimental value to someone.

I bet someone will buy that razor. But for $20, they really should overnight the package.

What did this finally go for?

It hasn't sold yet. The opening price is $499.

Well, he's either misplaced the decimal point, methinks, or his sense of value has been skewed by receiving $1600+ for two poker chips in his 1st auction.

Yeah, but they only charged $6 in shipping.

Hey, the guy has 100% positive feedback, what could go wrong? Lol...

100%, with ONE feedback, for ONE item sold, and it was $1,600 for $1.50 worth of poker chips! What the...?!?

They were from a defunct casino though. All it would take would be a couple of high rollers who used to frequent that casino. That's a drop in the bucket to some people.

Quite right! It is also my understanding that when a Nevada casino closes, the gaming commission requires that casino's chips to be destroyed. So, those chip are probably quite rare.

That is also my understanding. The only way for chips to survive from a casnio is for someone keep one as a souvenir.

Thus the rarity.

That's one of the ones I've been keeping my eye out for (the one with the Goodwill).

Have never seen one in the wild (only in Krumholz, as AG mentioned). Until this auction.

However, I'm not parting with that kind of coin for it. But glad to see that one at least exists.

While no one will likely buy this razor, linking to live ebay auctions without a BIN option is a no no...but again, I hope no one buys it...
