I went to B&B today. Buy 1 git 1 free!
Bought 2 tubes of Bigelow shave cream and got 2 free.
Walked to my car and returned to the store and bought 2 more.
Then I panicked hoping I had enough.
Returned and bought 2 more.

12 tubes of Bigelow Shave cream for $60.
I guess I am set for life.

thanks for the tip, BB seems to have this sale about once a year...definitely time to stock up!

The cream in the green box is re-branded Proraso. Although, a few on the boards have said they find a direct comparison shows some differences. I have never used Proraso, so I can't comment.

Very similar to the green tube proraso which many love.

What scares me is when I made the inital purchase, the salespearson at my store almost begged me to come back and purchase more of them. When I asked why, she replied that the shave cream is the slowest moving item in their store and they want their inventory gone and once that happens they won't be carrying it locally anymore and I should stock up if I like it.

I went to one of my local BBW locations, and they had ZERO tubes of this shave cream in either size. Plenty of the other Bigelow shave items for men though. I was bummed...:frown:

My store had the shave cream at 2/$5. The Bigelow products were 2-for-1 except for the Bay Rum aftershave balm, of which they had two bottles at 75% off (I got two tubes of s/c and one of the Bay Rum bottles even though I had one already). I popped in a second time a few days later and they had several of the Bigelow Barber After-Shave Balm # 1200 was also 75% off.

What they didn't have that I wanted was the Bay Rum cologne.

They only had 3 small tubes left. I picked up 2 for $5. I prefer the large tubes, but still not a bad deal. The sales lady said that it is very popular stuff. They can't keep it on the shelves.

i think its a regional thing. the bath and body works i went to at willowbrook was cleared out of everything (shaving creams, aftershave and bay rum). over at menlo park there was quite a bit left.

I went there today and the Bigelow stuff was no longer on sale.
Strangely there were no more shave cream sales, what was in the box when I was there last was still there untouched.

I got a big tube of Proraso, a green asb, and an old aqua di parma cologne they still had sitting around that was down from $93 to $23 (for my dad). No bay rum at any of my local shops though. Overall, the sale is pretty sweet, and I was happy about the large tube proraso, because I PIF'd my small tube to a friend that I am getting into wetshaving.
