Turned in my DE razor V-card last night, luckily my performance lasted over twenty minutes, but oh so worth it!

Weapon of choice:

Merkur 34C with the stock merkur blade
T&H - trafalgar sample (still debating on what scent I prefer)
AOS - pure badger brush

The shave was nowhere near as smooth as I thought (on account of operator error) and I got a pretty good nick at the chin area, but it's all part of the process. The razor burn was pretty intense though overall, practice makes perfect and DE shaving is here to stay!

Welcome to B&B! Congrats on having that first shave behind you -- keep us posted on your progress!

(As you've noticed, no bonus points for innuendo in this gentlemanly forum, but not a huge deal at all. Stick around and enjoy!)

Bit of advice on the irritation...ease up on the pressure when you're shaving...like, literally NONE. Just let the weight of the head of the razor provide the ressure, and you'll get it in no time. It's really hard to do at first after years of cartridges, but once you get the hang, the nicks/weepers/gouges/slices are a thing of the past along with the irritation.
