Which one is better -- the tub of cream or the soap?

I am equally proficient with creams and soaps . . . which one would you recommend/

Thanks.

Niether is better than the other in my opinion. Both give quality shaves. The cream is perhaps one of best creams out there I think, whereas the soap is still up there but there are other soaps of equal quality, if you get my drift.

+1

Never tried the soap but the cream is awesome... The soap is on my list of 'to-try'.

Shaves are pretty equal to me. The scent of the cream, as you would expect, is ever so slightly stronger but obviously the soap is a little more value for money in terms of how long it lasts.

What creams and soaps do you have already?

thanks for your responses. i realize most probably don't have both the trumpers coconut soap and the cream; so i appreciate your input. this one's next on my list.

In response to the post above, here are the soaps/creams I have:

Soaps: TOBS lavender, Cella (called a cream, acts like a soap); three Hugo Naturals; Two mama bears; Tabac

Creams: TOBS Eton College, Kiss My Face Vanilla, Liders Lime, Wars, Speick, Cremo, Proraso, Tom's of Maine calendula,

Thanks, again.

I'm sticking with cream for the time being. With only a few months of wet-shaving under my belt, I have to rein in desire to constantly switch products!

The GFT Coconut cream is a fine shaving cream, but there is not much if any coconut scent. Someone explained that it was not intended to, merely that it has coconut oil in it.

You have some great stuff already. Cella and Tabac are probably the top 2 soaps available right now, IMHO. Whether or not the Trumper's would "outperform" these two would be very specific to you and too close to call for me. I'll put my neck on the line and say that for me, Proraso is probably the best cream i've ever used. Whichever one you pick would be a winner. Personally, i'd go for the soap purely for economical reasons.

The cream rocks, but I've never tried the soap.

the cream has this weird side effect, every time i´ve shaved with it, i would later in the day at random intervals be hit by the scent of coconut, i could only describe it as awesome and invigorating,

I have both and I have no preference. Both lather equally well. The soap has a drier, toasted coconut arome, while the cream has a richer, sweeter, coconut milk aroma. Both top notch as far as I'm concerned.

Good list. If you like the TOBS I can definitely recommend the TOBS Avocado, St. James, and Mr. Taylor. If you have to stick with one, go with the Avocado (after the GFT, of course).

thanks, everyone for your help and advice.

By the way, Dex, the TOBS avocado has been in my sights for some time; although, after reading a review or two from folks who didn't like the scent, it has moved to the backburner. But it is definitely back up for serious consideration following your endorsement . . .. Thanks.
