It is possible that there could be a severe PAD (post acquisition disorder) associated with this thread?
Blackfoot?....How many posts did you have when you started in on this thread? 23? 24? I think we need to start a new 12 step group.
We admitted we were powerless over "no title" and that our lives had become unmanageable."

If you could get the whole thread to print on one page the you could simply do a global search for "blackfoot" and it would tell you how many times the name blackfoot is mentioned. You'd have to do a little tweaking in order to cancel out all of the false hits (like when someone quotes you), but it would in theory be easy enough to do.
No....how to make this display as one really really really really really really really really long page

A vacationing penguin is driving his through Arizona when he notices that the oil pressure light is on. He gets out to look and sees oil dripping out of the motor. He drives to the nearest town and stops at the first gas station. After dropping the car off, the penguin goes for a walk around town. He sees an ice-cream shop and, being a penguin in Arizona, decides that something cold would really hit the spot. He gets a big dish of ice cream and sits down to eat. Having no hands he makes a real mess trying to eat with his flippers. After finishing his ice cream, he goes back to the gas station and asks the mechanic if he's found the problem. The mechanic looks up and says "It looks like you blew a seal." "No no," the penguin replies, "it's just ice cream."

A man drives to a gas station and has his tank filled up. While doing this the clerk spots two penguins sitting on the back seat of the car. He asks the driver, "What's up with the penguins in the back seat?"
The man in the car says, "I found them. I asked myself what to do with them but, I haven't a clue."
The clerk ponders a bit then says, "You should take them to the zoo."
"Yeah, that's a good idea," says the man in the car and drives away.
The next day the man with the car is back at the same gas station. The clerk sees the penguins are still in the back seat of the car. "Hey, they're still here! I thought you were going to take them to the zoo!"

I'm also in a FF league at The Shave Den. There we have 12 teams and play head-to-head. It's a challenge trying to start a half-way decent team every week. I'm lucky to have one star player play every week. My No Title team has stars on the bench every week... still fun though
Prediction: The Defenders will tank next week after the Patriots crush, kill and destroy the Dolts!! :a6: .... Yes, I'm a Patriots fan :001_smile
You know I have a few Pats on my Fantasy team as well. It'll probably be a good week for me no matter who wins. That said, I'd rather see the Colts beat the pats than beat you guys in FF.
You see, this go to show we welcome everyone, no matter their views and opinions. Even if they are incredibly stupid and wrong.

So, you think the Dolts GREATEST TEAM OF THE LAST DECADE will beat the Pats? You want to bet on it? Not cash. Something like: winner picks an avatar that the loser has to use for a week... or something like that?
FTFY.
Actually I see this game as pretty even. If either team has an advantage its the Colts and simply because it is a home game. Before this season started I predicted that the Colts would be undefeated going into this game. I also don't like undefeated seasons. That becomes the media focus and I think it causes a great deal of undue stress. To tell the truth I'd rather they lose now and then win the SB but we'll see.
GO COLTS!!!
I am not a betting man and don't really even watch football regularly. However, out of support for my team, I'll take that bet.
Good man!

Some friends of mine and I once started a list of movies that would allow you to get [more|all] of the jokes on The Simpsons. It's out of date now, but it's also a good list of good and bad movies. (the occasional decimals were the result of a collaborative effort and no one wanting to re-format the list). Also, I haven't seen all of these either, but, well, you asked for it.
1. Pink Flamingos
1.5 Pecker
2. Clerks
3. A Clockwork Orange
5. The original Shaft
5.5 Dolomite
6. The original Planet of the Apes
7. Logan's Run
8. Run Lola Run
9. The Running Man
9.5. Blade Runner
10. Blazing Saddles
10.5 Space Balls
10.75 The Producers
11. Strange Brew
12. The Kentucky Fried Movie (Samuel L. Bronkowitz presents...)
13. Amazon Women on the Moon
14. Forbidden Planet
15. Remains of the Day - (Anthony Hopkins / Emma Thompson)

OK guys....I know this question is completely off topic...but I trust you guys (call it foolishness) and I'm guessing you might know better than me.
What's the best boar brush?
Semogue 1305?
Omega 81056?
Boreal 976?
Omega 11137
Omega 632 (I think this one is badger)?
I don't know what to go with. Suggestions? Do any of you guys have one of these? Any input would be welcomed.
from personal experience, my Omega is the best boar that I've used, but it's only comparison I can draw it with is my Burma Shave (not even sure it's boar at this point ), and a Van Der Hagen.
That said, there are a LOT of extremely positive comments about the Semogue boars over at TSD...I'm actually a bit tempted myself to get one, but am going to wait awhile, as I have another project in mind

You can't go wrong with an Omega. That said, I like the Semogue 2000 a lot better than the Omega Pro I have, probably because it's a bit denser and uses thicker bristle. So it has a little more backbone to it, but the tips are softening up quite nicely. As for Boreal, I haven't tried any of their brushes.

why, I remember when this thread was just a young lil' thing, hardly off its spool. And it was Waldo for a while and would disappear, and then would reappear at the oddest of times, then disappear, rename itself, and reappear, ad infinitum - like the time I caught the ferry over to Shelbyville. I needed a new heel for my shoe, so, I decided to go to Morganville, which is what they called Shelbyville in those days. So I tied an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time. Now, to take the ferry cost a nickel, and in those days, nickels had pictures of bumblebees on 'em. Give me five bees for a quarter, you'd say. Now where were we? Oh yeah: the important thing was I had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time. They didn't have white onions because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones and my mom got scared, and said, "You're movin' with your auntie and uncle in Bel-Air." I whistled for a cab and when it came near The license plate said fresh and it had dice in the mirror. If anything I could say that this cab was rare, but I thought, "Nah, forget it. Yo, holmes to Bel-Air!" I pulled up to the house about 7 or 8 and I yelled to the cabbie, "Yo homes smell ya later!" Looked at my kingdom I was finally there, to sit on my throne as the prince of Bel-Air.

Being a Hitchcock fan, I thought it was a great spoof of those movies. But, I agree, Blazing Saddles and Young Frankenstein are the pinnacles of Brooks' comic genius.
Although not a Brooks movie, The Frisco Kid is also very good and very funny.

another morning...still funk'd...but am dang proud of and tremendously appreciative of our veterans (and future veterans).
hard to stay funkified when I think of what they/you've done to serve this country and protect the freedom and statutes that this nation is built upon.
the sacrifices made, courage found, discipline maintained, and honor deserved cannot possibly be fully shown by a single day of the year set aside to remember and reflect.
I pray that the service they have provided will never end up being in vain, and that men of character and heart and nobility continue to serve and stand for what this nation is, despite what the detractors - foreign and domestic - believe.
I'm terrible with words, but just know that God has blessed this nation, because it was founded by Godly men and women, and based upon Godly principles, not as a theocracy, but as a nation that recognizes God. There are many that believe otherwise, and that's their decision, and they have the freedom to believe so - that's part of what our veterans have served and fought and sacrificed to provide us.
Despite it's problems, there is tremendously more good than bad, and I'm proud to be an American, I love this country, and I salute (as a civilian) our men and women of the Armed Forces.

I think I may have realized why I haven't seen many of these movies. I grew up laughing at Adam Sandler instead of Mel Brooks. Not that Brooks isn't funny, just that his stuff wasn't as popular. My friends and I talk in movie quotes constantly, but we quote Happy Gilmore, Anchorman, Wedding Crashers, and that type of movie. Either way, I'm not opposed to being exposed to new (to me anyway) comedy.

LOL, well, I think Sandler and those guys were funnier when they were on SNL.

another morning...still funk'd...but am dang proud of and tremendously appreciative of our veterans (and future veterans).
hard to stay funkified when I think of what they/you've done to serve this country and protect the freedom and statutes that this nation is built upon.
the sacrifices made, courage found, discipline maintained, and honor deserved cannot possibly be fully shown by a single day of the year set aside to remember and reflect.
God Bless America, Bless God America
Great post!

Yeah, yeah. Whatever. I remember buying my dad a copy of Blazing Saddles for Christmas one year and watching him laugh hysterically for hours. I laughed, too, just not as much as him. He told me it was a classic; the funniest thing ever.
How old are y'all, anyway? I didn't think there was that much of an age gap here.
Anchorman was hilarious, BTW!
Yes. Yes it is.

I don't know, Happy Gilmore and Billy Madison were pretty good. Those and some of Chris Farley's movies (Tommy Boy and Black Sheep) will go down as classics.

I doubt I am much older than you. I just always liked the older stuff. I mean, I enjoy Marx Brothers, Charlie Chaplin & Peter Sellers movies. My wife says I have an old soul, whatever that means.
Oh, I'm 32.

Chris Farley is a different story all together. He could make almost anything funny. He didn't even have to speak. The late John Candy was also another favorite of mine.

I'm 27, so not very much younger than many of you. I wouldn't think 8 or 10 years would make that much difference in movie world. I guess I just never really got into Monty Python, Mel Brooks, and what-not. Nothing against them. I just didn't.

I saw most of those movies before you were born (in an actual movie theater, with a balcony, where we could go smoke cigarettes)!!!

True. But that's like saying it's better for me to punch you in the stomach than to punch you in the mouth. It would be better to not punch you at all. It would be better for kids to wear pants, at least until they understand they have to wear them in public.
