the sable hat avatar is optional. no worries.

No, it turns out he is an arrogant :censored:. I am really trying to watch myself but I am angry and I apologise in advance if I slip and say something inappropriate. He was rather rude to my wife. Also, he heard me ask a question and told her if I want to talk to him then I needed to talk to him myself. I was this close to walking down there and doing just that. It is probably in everyone's best interest that I am about to leave for work. I am not a violent man. I do not tolerate people mistreating my wife. I do know how to fight better than 98% of people. I do it for a living, after all. I didn't want to start anything, but I did want to talk to him and I am always prepared when someone wants to go a step further. I want this whole thing to end peacefully, but he made it clear it had to be done with lawyers. Apparently, he took pictures of the "problems". This implies to me the motorcycle was out during the day. There is no way they can say I can't have it in the drive during the day. And from now on, it will be in the drive every single day, whether I ride it or not.
Whoa! He's being a :censored: to your wife? That's going way too far. Anytime someone starts dissing family, it's time to kick their :censored:!
NO, jeff is a warm feeling, remember?
Umm, yeah, I'm not touching that.
Not yet, thank god.
I'm not sure the world is ready for that!
I'm not even sure the world's still ready for Blake, but yet here he is.
Well, I have calmed from the random and aimless anger to precision. A calm angry man is far more dangerous.
For the record, we have not been completely without fault. After all, I don't keep a golf course type yard. I mow because I have to. We don't keep our flower beds well weeded. My house is my home, not a display case. Some probably do not like that. Our home isn't trashy, but it isn't the nicest looking yard in our neighbourhood. The boat has actually been sitting next to the driveway. It is trimmed and there are no weeds growing up around it. My immediate neighbours have never cared and agree with us. Had my neighbours felt it was messy or unkempt, I would have done more about it. However, they have never felt this way.
The problem lies in people who are not even affected. Maybe they wanted us out of the neighbourhood since we are not the cookie-cutter suburbanites. Whatever their problem is with us, they win. That is one thing that has me upset. I could fight it with no guarantees. We really can't afford a lawyer. Therefore, they are driving us out of our home. Like most people, I am more bark than bite. However, I don't forget those who hurt me and mine. And, when I do bite, it is something the receiving party does not soon forget! I was talking to my Captain last night. I said I didn't want a fight and wasn't going to start one. He laughed and said, "No, but you sure as heck will end one fast and hard. I know you that well, Blake." I will see how far they push me. If it is a fight they want, they will learn to regret it. I decided I would even put my bike in the garage today. I've decided to fight a long drawn out war. I will pace myself and not do anything too drastic. That being said, I am checking the covenant to see if there are any rules about how I paint my home. I am thinking a tie-dye garage door. :w00t:
In other words, you're not conforming to the social norms that are accepted as being part and parcel of a suburban existence. Shame, shame on you.
I think the only solution would be to start doing the lawn (and associated yard work) in your underwear. Preferably briefs. That oughta give them somehting to complain about. (my sister had a neighbor... well, a story for another day).
Just don't weed whack in your underwear.
Bear in mind, Blake, that if any of this does ever go to court, what you say on B&B is in the public domain.

That was the heydey of TV adolescents who were there to save the ignorant adults from their own stupidity.
We still see a bit of it these days with the daughter in James Woods "Shark" and the whiney little sister in "The Bionic Woman" but it pretty much has gone away. Unfortunately, the middle aged working class male is still open season fair game.

That wasn't TNG's biggest problem. That prize firmly rests on the shoulders of one Wesley Crusher.
I wasn't accusing you of Tolkien bashing...but after re-reading your post I understand now that I misunderstood it!
And your post about Crusher is timely...do you happen to be a fan of Big Bang theory?? He was just on the last episode, playing Sheldon in a RPG card game...it was friggin hilarious!

My favorite place to travel? Michigan's western Upper Peninsula, especially the Wilderness areas up there like Sturgeon River Gorge and Sylvania Wilderness.
Actually I have a two travel trips. They are:
1) If you ever run into a black bear, don't play dead. They're quite indiscriminate when it comes to eating dead things. It's best to back away slowly, with your front facing the bear. Don't turn and run.
2) If you're traveling during the winter in areas prone to getting lots of snow, always have a snow shovel in your vehicle. You never know when you might need to dig yourself out.
I have to disagree.
1) When traveling into black bear territory, take along a friend who runs slower than you do. This way you don't have to outrun the bear, just your friend.

Unless of course, the bear is on a low fat diet. In which case, well, you might be the one to be bear lunch.

Problem with bear advise.. is black bears are subject to change at any given moment.. What works one day won't work the next.. and ya know. they are so darn cute but dangerous as hell. Be careful and be educated and for God's sakes don't feed them! There is a really cool bear ranch in the UP that you can visit tho!

Well, you can really say that about just any wild animal. Personally, I have only had two close encounters with black bears. The first was while I was camping with my family up in the Porkies. I must have been about 11 years old. We had a pop-up trailer at the time. You know the type with the hard bottom, canvas tent-like top? Anyway, my parents forgot to put the one of the coolers away before calling it a night and instead left it inside the screened-off area outside the trailer. It was completely scrubbed out and clean, but that didn't deter a mama black bear and her two cubs from ripping a three-foot gash in the screen a mere foot-and-a-half away from where I was sleeping.
The other time was a few years back when I was a student up at Michigan Tech. I went hiking by myself in the Sturgeon River Gorge Wilderness south of Baraga. I was headed toward the falls when this skinny, scrawny black bear popped out of the trail probably no more than 40 to 50 yards ahead of me. It didn't do much, other than stare at me for a minute or so. Honestly, I think it was about as surprised about seeing me as I was surprised about seeing it. Anyway, I back off a little, gently told it to go on its way, I'll wait and then go my way, and that was pretty much it.
Moose scare me even more...... they are always mean...
Honestly, that's the one thing I have never seen up there. Bears, wolves, bobcats, heck even fresh cougar tracks, but no moose.

That is absolutely terrifying! How old were you and what happened after that!?!?
The moose are coming back hon.. they are issuing moose permits.. A cougar attacked a horse up here a month or so ago.. and the wolves are getting bad again.. the bear are thinning out for some reason and the moose are moving in. My neighbor has lost a dog and 3 cats to a wolf this year... but it beats the heck out of civilization to me anyway....

The first encounter happened when I was eleven. The worst part is that all happened a foot-and-a-half away from my head. Granted it, ripped a hole into the screened off area in front of the trailer, not the trailer proper, but still...
The second? Oh, that happened a little after I turned 22.
As for moose, I know their making a bit of a comeback up around those parts. Heck, I remember reading that they had to shot one last year because it was blocking traffic on US-41 over near Marquette. Still, I never had the opportunity to see one when I was living up that way.

Well, first step, get some industrial rubber. Vulcanized is best. Then get either a shoe or an old tire.
Heat the rubber until it's mushy then press the shoe or old tire into the mushy rubber firmly. Carefully withdraw said item and let the rubber cool and harden.
Coat the negative mold with teflon spray and you now have the perfect tread mold. The rest should be obvious.

Thanks. Unfortunately, I've put on weight and I just can't pull it off anymore.
Huh. I'd figure the problem would be in putting it on, not pulling it off. Oh well.
