Option 8.... take over some of the wife's space.

(it's an option; i didn't say it was a viable one)

Or better yet, you should have your man bathroom and she can have the smaller insignificant bathroom that doesn't matter.

Why limit yourself to one bathroom?:ohmy:

Exactly!

Now we're thinking. Full-scale, all-out, bathroom domination. Muahahahahahaha!!!!

No luck with the Pres, huh?

No, it turns out he is an arrogant :censored:. I am really trying to watch myself but I am angry and I apologise in advance if I slip and say something inappropriate. He was rather rude to my wife. Also, he heard me ask a question and told her if I want to talk to him then I needed to talk to him myself. I was this close to walking down there and doing just that. It is probably in everyone's best interest that I am about to leave for work. I am not a violent man. I do not tolerate people mistreating my wife. I do know how to fight better than 98% of people. I do it for a living, after all. I didn't want to start anything, but I did want to talk to him and I am always prepared when someone wants to go a step further. I want this whole thing to end peacefully, but he made it clear it had to be done with lawyers. Apparently, he took pictures of the "problems". This implies to me the motorcycle was out during the day. There is no way they can say I can't have it in the drive during the day. And from now on, it will be in the drive every single day, whether I ride it or not.

I'm sorry to hear it went that way.

Oh, I forgot the part that really has me riled. My wife is now crying because of the whole thing. She has agreed to put the place up for dale though. It probably won't be until spring. That means I have all winter to be a pain and cost them as much money in lawyer fees as possible.

This is the part that would have me fired up the most as well. Take it easy and breathe......

i'm sorry to hear, Blake. The whole thing just stinks (to say the least).

Well, I have calmed from the random and aimless anger to precision. A calm angry man is far more dangerous.

For the record, we have not been completely without fault. After all, I don't keep a golf course type yard. I mow because I have to. We don't keep our flower beds well weeded. My house is my home, not a display case. Some probably do not like that. Our home isn't trashy, but it isn't the nicest looking yard in our neighbourhood. The boat has actually been sitting next to the driveway. It is trimmed and there are no weeds growing up around it. My immediate neighbours have never cared and agree with us. Had my neighbours felt it was messy or unkempt, I would have done more about it. However, they have never felt this way.

The problem lies in people who are not even affected. Maybe they wanted us out of the neighbourhood since we are not the cookie-cutter suburbanites. Whatever their problem is with us, they win. That is one thing that has me upset. I could fight it with no guarantees. We really can't afford a lawyer. Therefore, they are driving us out of our home. Like most people, I am more bark than bite. However, I don't forget those who hurt me and mine. And, when I do bite, it is something the receiving party does not soon forget! I was talking to my Captain last night. I said I didn't want a fight and wasn't going to start one. He laughed and said, "No, but you sure as heck will end one fast and hard. I know you that well, Blake." I will see how far they push me. If it is a fight they want, they will learn to regret it. I decided I would even put my bike in the garage today. I've decided to fight a long drawn out war. I will pace myself and not do anything too drastic. That being said, I am checking the covenant to see if there are any rules about how I paint my home. I am thinking a tie-dye garage door. :w00t:

Forgive my ignorance here, Blake (et al.), but if push does come to shove, what can the home owner assn. do? They can't fine you or force you to move, can they? Or do they just make life difficult for you until you comply? I'm just curious as to what authority they actually have.

That is a question I have. My wife spoke to the former president and he said he wouldn't use the lawyers for that because of the expense for one. He said how much it cost just to call and how much each letter like this cost, but I don't remember. The other thing was the lawyers said that there wasn't much they could do if the dwellers didn't comply. I considered calling their bluff but my wife is concerned about the bad press. No one would know the story, just see we were going to court for refusing to comply. Her job needs good PR and she is worried about what effect this would have.

One of my officers asked what would happen if the president showed up to the next meeting in a wheelchair as a result of an accident and then he suddenly suggest some changes to the covenant. You, know, just saying.

I think for your own protection you should also be told, in writing, about specific complaints if any and from whom they are coming. Copies of the original complaints, etc. If it's a case of one "old biddy" being a pain, then the complaints should be dismissed. But, if a significant number of people are complaining, then that might hold some merit.

My housing district has a series of restrictions that all homeowners receive. The restrictions aren't that ridiculous, but the main thing is we don't want trailer houses moving in next door. We had someone try to do this a few years ago. This couple bought a spot of land on the corner and was trying to move a house on blocks next to us so they could 'fix it up' to sell. We don't have anything against trailer houses per se (both my parents and my wife's started in a trailer), but obviously such a thing would greatly harm our property values and deface the community. We had to hire a lawyer and file civil suit to have the paper work upheld and get the sheriff to make them give up the house-on-blocks. It was very costly for both sides and nasty, just because someone tried to ignore the established rules that we used to protect one another from devaluing the community properties.

I don't know if this is anything like your situation Blake (and I'm certainly not comparing you to this couple) but I thought I'd share the story in case it helped you in any way. :thumbup1:

I doubt there is anything in your deed restrictions about that. There might be something in your local laws regarding public lewdness that the police may be interested in, but nothing in the deed restrictions. Mrs. Blackfoot said something about making sure someone different is elected this time. I am not sure I am the person for the job. I am not a yuppie and don't own a minivan. Any number of places. You could put it in your shave clinic post, and see if folks have suggestions for the next things you could try based on your preferences. The Shave of the Day Forum (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=10) would also be a good place to share a great shave you have every now and then, or even daily. Then you could do what lots of folks do, and make your preferences known by answering "what's your favorite..." questions others ask in all the other shave forums (creams, soaps, razors, aftershaves, etc.). Heck, we know you're good at answering questions anyway!

Jump right in -- there are no wrong answers, and I have a hunch you'll enjoy getting to know more and more folks outside of the barber shop. I know that B&B will be better for it.
