Wow! That's fantastic, Rob. I can tell you are very proud of her. If you don't mind me asking, is your family with you while you are stationed in Japan?

I am not personally military, but my Uncle (my father's, sisters husband) was career Air Force (he retired as a Full Colonel about ten years ago), and my cousins went with him everywhere he was stationed. They moved every two years, throughout our childhood, except that they loved it so much in Anchorage, Alaska, they put in for an extra tour and stayed there for 4 years (no joke).

As adults they look back and say that they loved the excitement of moving around and they are glad for the vast panorama of experiences that most of us will never get but that they would like to know what it was like to live of a base and actually have friends that they grew up with. Personally, if given the choice, I don't think either of them would have given up the travel in order to stay in one place. notwithstanding that they have been divorced 3 times between the two fo them, prior to age 30.

Forgive me if this is going in too personal a direction for this thread. I am just curious if your experiences are similar. Or maybe its just the ambien talking . . .

Because it comes straight from the Czar, and ONLY because it comes straight form the Czar, the Ministry will let it go, although we would have preferred it if he were to be known as: "Official Poster of Feline Photograhic Funnies" or even: Undersecretary of Toonces, His Penumbras and Emanations."

That was what was really great. They thoroughly warned me, and then started buying me more. I honestly have no idea how many I drank. Upon leaving, the lass that was our escort (This was a busines dinner, of sorts.) took me to a bar that only served Jenever and had hundreds of different kinds. It was awesome!

On our second trip over, we went back to that bar several times. I out-lasted and Englishman, a Scott, two Belgians and I'm not sure who some of the others were. Sad thing is, I am not a heavy drinker. I really don't drink very often or very much.

This sucks. An officer that moved to days this week missed a fire drill that was supposed to happen last weekend. So, I was supposed to get it done this weekend. We were short staffed and only had four officers and were slammed all weekend so I didn't get it done either. The Captain is going to be irritated. I might be able to do it today, but it isn't actually the weekend anymore. We still only have four on, but are having an easier night.

OK, there are over 2300 posts in this thread. I read a few at the top and a few of the recent ones and can make no sense of this. I'll be damned if I am going to read all 2300+ posts!

If I were to ask politely, what are the chances I would get a straight answer telling me what this is all about?

Not that I'm asking -- yet.

Cool Dog
Take a hot dog, replace the bun with sponge cake, the weenie with ice cream, and the mustard and relish with chocolate sauce, whipped cream and sprinkles, and you've got a Cool Dog.

It's a yummy invention, though fairly difficult to eat since it refuses to slide forward in its little box and is impossible to pick up without obliterating the entire thing. Just think of it as a little puzzle.

Mostly, the point is that there is no point. Go with that and you'll be fine.
