It's not a squirrel and certainly not a dragon which is what he will tell you. We've decided that it's a muskrat with a flaming snot cannon.
Which is to say our illustrious Czar decided it was that, not that I'm one to dispute the that.

Morning gents. The little one is sleeping in a tad so I'm able to catch up a tick on the B&B. However, as with most days lately, today will involve lots of errands and chores around the new place.
However, I just gotta share some neat news about my new job. It's called a "visualization lab" and it means I get to build a display wall of 4 x 3 (30" each) LCD monitors, powered by a rack of linux servers with scorching graphics cards in them. The lab is small, and I'm unsure if the AC will be able to handle the heat load, and the rack will be noisy -- but a seven foot display will be too cool. I'll need to get a supervillain costume or something to go with it. :001_tongu

Agreed. I love Douglas Adams. I thought I had read all of his stuff -- where did that one come from?
From Wikipedia
The Salmon of Doubt: Hitchhiking the Galaxy One Last Time is a posthumous collection of previously unpublished material by Douglas Adams. It consists largely of essays about technology and life experiences, but its major selling point is the inclusion of the incomplete novel on which Adams was working at the time of his death, The Salmon of Doubt (from which the collection gets its title, a reference to the Celtic myth of the Salmon of Wisdom). English editions of the book were published in the USA and UK in May 2002, exactly one year after the author's death.
He was originally planning on making it one of his Dirk Gently novels, but felt that it would actually be an upbeat end to the Hitch Hikers guide series, as he felt the last book was a bit bleak.

It's Glaurung. He's among one of the biggest and baddest of the dragons in Tolkien's Middle Earth mythology. He met his end during the First Age, when he was slain by Túrin Turambar. Honestly, don't you people know anything?

Awesome!
I came in third once in a Moon pie eating contest. My freshman year in college.
No, but squirrel dumplings weren't bad. The dog treed it, my grandfather shot it, and gave the giblets to the dog as a reward. My grandmother cooked the rest for lunch, just to do it. She probably hadn't done that since the Depression, and so it was interesting as a reference point.
I used to eat squirrel all of the time as a kid. I've since discovered that it wasn't as good as I remembered it :prrr:
I remember eating squirrel as a little kid. Mom & Dad didn't have much money, so he had to hunt to help supplement. I don't remember at all what it tasted like.

:001_tongu
Truly Awesome!!!

Rob, I'm thinking that you need to do a little bit more study on the history of pirates... they weren't the bastions of gentlemanly behavior that you seem to think they were

Here's an easy game to play.
Here's an easy thing to say:
If a packet hits a pocket on a socket on a port,
And the bus is interrupted as a very last resort,
And the address of the memory makes your floppy disk abort,
Then the socket packet pocket has an error to report!
If your cursor finds a menu item followed by a dash,
And the double-clicking icon puts your window in the trash,
And your data is corrupted 'cause the index doesn't hash,
Then your situation's hopeless, and your system's gonna crash!
You can't say this?
What a shame sir!
We'll find you
Another game sir.
If the label on the cable on the table at your house,
Says the network is connected to the button on your mouse,
But your packets want to tunnel on another protocol,
That's repeatedly rejected by the printer down the hall,
And your screen is all distorted by the side effects of gauss
So your icons in the window are as wavy as a souse,
Then you may as well reboot and go out with a bang,
'Cause as sure as I'm a poet, the sucker's gonna hang!
When the copy of your floppy's getting sloppy on the disk,
And the microcode instructions cause unnecessary risc,
Then you have to flash your memory and you'll want to RAM your ROM.
Quickly turn off the computer and be sure to tell your mom!

It's only diarrhea when it's coming from the likes of you. When i do it, it's more like a ray of sunshine streaming in to comfort the wayward and cold:wink:
makes me think of:
Once upon a time, there was a little bird who refused to fly south for the winter. His friends tried to convince him that winter was coming and he should go, but the little bird was adamant. Finally, his friends left on their journey, but the little bird remained behind. Pretty soon the weather turned bitter cold. The little bird began to shiver. After a while, he decided he had made a mistake, so he too headed south. But he was too late and the weather descended upon him. As he flew, ice formed on his wings. He grew more and more weary until finally he fell to earth in a cow pasture, freezing and exhausted. He was convinced he was going to die. As he lay there, freezing to death, a cow came by and crapped on him. The manure warmed his body and wings. The bird realized he would live. He was so happy, he began to sing. A cat was passing by and heard the singing. The cat dug into the manure, uncovered the bird and promptly ate him.
There are three morals to this story:
1. Not everyone who craps on you is necessarily your enemy.
2. Not everyone who gets you out of the crap is necessarily your friend.
3. And, if you're happy in your own pile of crap, keep your mouth shut.

So, what you're saying is that pirates have a different understanding of "giving someone the finger." OK, now I see.

There's nothing quite like a piece of cheese
to nibble upon for pleasure and ease.
No matter the time or state of mind
greater joy than cheese you'll never find.
Served on a cracker or a soft piece of bread
a morceau de fromage will please your head.
Roquefort, camembert, brie or blue
served with fruit or in fondue
God gave us cheese- a bit of heaven on earth
to lift our burdens, providing sweet mirth.
And after all our daily work is done
we enjoy simple cheese just for fun.
But remember the ancient custom of the house
leave behind a kernel for the nocturnal mouse.
