Well in Dennis's defense, he never did say what he was busy with. Besides if you haven't been reading Jesse's posts, he has stop moving for two days and is visiting people, by which I believe he means that he is feeding his B&B addiction.
:whistling: maybe.
It's nice to keep tabs on you yobs while I'm in the midst of total upheaval. Quit a job, packed up everything I own into a 26-foot van, bought a house, got a job, and started driving. Mrs. Soapbox and I aren't known for spreading the stress out: we concentrate it.

Actually, Jesse's moving AND sending out samples. If that isn't B&B love, I don't know what is.
Indeed. Jesse is an amazing person is he not? :thumbup1:

Y'all are very kind and worthy folks. True, one wants to keep one's prospective customers (and buddies) happy. But, it's not just a capitalist urge -- I don't own any part of the soap company, and Mom and Dad are in good health, so I'm working with them on the shave soap for love of the game, and the challenge. I've learned a lot about making shave soap, and it feels good to help them. Plus, I'm just excited to share the lime soap. It smells so good!

sweet! I'm closer to Texarkana, didn't figure you'd go that far North to end up on I-30, so I assumed (bad Jim, bad!) you'd take 20. Awesome! :thumbup1:
I'll see what I can do to be there!
Edit: as now obvious, I'm sandwiched between the two, being 30 minutes for TXK, and about an hour from Marshall
Oh hell yeah! I'd love to have lunch with you and Paul both. What a great way to break up the long stretch between Oxford, MS and Denton. :w00t:

But, for real indeed. I suspect that yours truly may have had something to do with the limeyness of the soap. hehehe
And it's also true about Chip's predating.... some very few of us even remember the days before Chip became limecat. 'Course we had to submit our posts via punch card (chip had to use telegraph, then punchcard), but somehow, the avatars looked remarkably good.

I am suggesting that the appearance of the tallow based lime soap and the disappearance of Chip might be related. The Major Case Squad is on the way right now.
Although Limecat fat would render a very nice limey tallow, I imagine.

Is there a chance? Yes. Do I know what English Fern smells like? no. If we find out, we'd have to work with a perfumery to re-formulate the scent, but yeah, it can be done. Trouble is, would enough people buy it to make it worth the production (and the boxes, which requires a surprisingly large investment)?
So instead of selling Paul the English Fern, you douchebags ought to sell it to me so I can give it to the Colonel so he can make more so he can sell it to Paul...

How similar is the cologne to the stick, smell-wise? One would expect them to be similar, but sometimes colognes are somewhat different because they are made to smell a certain way once applied to your skin, so the two products might smell differently in their un-applied state. That stuff is expensive so I'm looking for a cheap way to identify the smell you want without having to purchase an $80.00 cologne bottle or $45 shave soap (crikey!).

IF, and I know it's a big "IF", Gollum/Matt were to swear total loyalty to me and the Czardom recognizing the error of his ways ... and of course meaning all that henceforth and forever more... I would be willing to:

I say probation. Under the terms of which, you must both read the book and see the miniseries. Also, Children of Dune may be in order for continuity's sake.
Of course they took liberties. This is Dune we're talking about. There's so many intricacies in the novel you need a score card to keep track of them all. Besides, you really think your average television audience would get all of them anyway?
But it was on Sci-Fi. That brings to mind one word. Trekkies. If they can't keep up with the intricacies, no one can.

I think it's hard to contain the exuberance of Matt. Good, ill, funny, or insulting, I think a place like the court Jester would be a great find for him. He could entertain you with stories of his cold-blooded killer kitty and such. I expect the exchanges with Paul and Blake to continue unabated, but perhaps with an understanding of camaraderie. With a proposed addition of Fnord5 as court composer, one could consider the court in an expansion phase anyway.
I do note that merely getting Matt a new title doesn't guarantee that said new title would be any more pleasant -- intercession doesn't mean RichCzar has ultimate sway over their title choices...

Well gents, I couldn't wait to try that wonderful smelling lime soap. So I have gone ahead and shave with it, despite the fact that I primarily shave in the morning. My initial thoughts of the soap can be summed up in the the following: Thank the Gods! :w00t:
I mean the smell is great, but gets so much better when lathered on your face. I mean it's probably the closest thing to Castle Forbes Lime it terms of scent I have experienced thus far, although my experience in all things lime is probably a bit limited compared to some of you so take that as you will. But still, I think we have a winner here. Give my regards to your folks, Jesse!

W00t! I'm so glad it arrived for all of y'all. We sent 11 pucks total this round.
Tomorrow will be a big day: three test batches are scheduled. None of them will be scented at this point, but we've gathered a selection of essential oils to work on the sage/lemongrass and possibly some others. It's possible we'll do a bayberry batch, but (a) it's not an essential oil, but rather a fragrance oil, and (b) we don't know the particulars of how the scents affect the lather, so we want to test the recipes first, prior to adding scents.
BTW, during discussions with Mom and Dad tonight, I was reminded of just how dangerously smart my folks are. I mean, yikes. I have to bring my "A" game just to keep up.

I could see that. A light lye solution is used in commercial pickles, pretzels and toothpaste. It is also used to adjust a PH.

Ant stings (e.g.) hurt because they are formic acid (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Formic_acid) -- so neutralizing the acid stops the hurt. Yeah, some of the acid gets below the skin, and you shouldn't inject baking soda (or lye!), but the base does help the burn. Better to use ammonia, but we didn't have any of that either!
